How do you properly install macro line lol?

I seem to be having some trouble as of late. Usually macro-line fittings are fine, but I can't seem to get them not to leak recently. What's the solution to leaks out of the actual line area and not the theads? I tried cutting the macro line perfectly flat, but maybe it'd not flat enough.. teflon tape the ends?

(it's leaking from the actual macro-line input q/d area).

There seems to be a technique to it.

Replace the o ring in them.

Pull the collars out, o ring is hiding inside

    Size 010

Start with a nice square cut. I usually lightly break the edge of the cut ends by scraping with a razor blade sometimes finish by flashing it with a lighter.

And yeah as Trbo said, make sure your fittings have good o rings.

Even with all that, sometimes you will have to “massage” the lines into place while pressurized to get a good seal.

Are SS braid lines a no-go? I've given up on macro and gone back to SS when possible to avoid the headaches, but I know not everyone is keen on that idea.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

I never ever use Macro line. It looks like a dare or something. Pointlessly risky and “high tech” for no reason. Braided with real fittings every time or the rigid line that CCI used.

Use whatever hose you like. Nothing wrong with braided or ss lines.

I have noticed that sometimes a new piece of macro will leak more than one that's had some break in time.

I use a PVC cutter to trim my macroline. It provides a perfectly clean cut every time. So long as the o-ring is intact and the macroline is cut to the proper length, it should seal fine.

            Cigar cutter.

Box knife in a pinch, never wire cutters

              Oil on it

jam it all the way in while holding the collar away from the fitting so there’s a gap

then pull on it some and work it into a strong position

with a good clean cut it should be okay

Straight cut pencil sharpen the end so it rounded and don’t cut the sealing oring. You basically just take the sharp edge off so it’s a bit beveled and slides past the sealing oring without damaging it. If it leaks hit the fitting with a lighter for a few seconds should seat the barbs and help the oring seal.

I always used a pex cutter. The pencil sharpener on the end seems like a good idea, too.

Pull out the collar with pliers. Extract the o-ring, lightly grease it and put back in, then push back collar on.

Learned this one from a friend and former teammate, who owns a water purification business that makes systems for Dow here. Same basic type of fittings and has fixed my leaks, everytime.

Yep, imo the key is a fresh o-ring lightly greased, and then smoothing the fresh cut edge on the macroline over so it doesn't cut up the o-ring on the way in.

Capital Dave showed me the lighter trick. Works 90% of the time leave it aired up and everything just heat the fitting that’s leaking slightly.

I like to take high grit sandpaper on new cuts, but replacing/oiling the collar o-ring makes a huge difference.
