What's the most modern, available, in-line valve bore drop pump?

    Phantom - Breech drop.
    Sniper - Stacked tube.
    Bob Long MVP - Unavailable.
    Thumper - Sigh.

You see where this is going... Short of going to a custom build, what's the best platform to build around for a bore-drop, in-line pump gun?

Maverick/Trracer/Hornet/Tagmaster? Not new, but widely available, work great, and dirt cheap.

Dam .... You bring me back to an old (old) rabithole: converting a phantom to boredrop ...

I didn't have the tool and know how then, I do t have the cheap beater phantom now ...

As for the original question, sorry, not much to add over what Diomedes said ...

ICD PRP, well sold out right now, but at least sort of recent.

They did almost seem to try too hard with the darn thing. All I was wanting was an old school Bushmaster pump updated to a more standard barrel threading and with some feed options.

Also in the "recently discontinued" category, Empire Trracer and Kingman Hammer 7. Still new'ish, but getting harder to find.

Or do you count pump ion as custom?

What difference does it make if it’s bore drop or breach drop? I have both types of pumps and the difference is something I never think EVER about unless threads like this show up.

Myself and others have concept CAD models to this effect, but no one has followed through on it. It requires a new bolt and body at minimum. The onlt technical challenge is the front frame screw, but RTR already prooved a solution on the Gargoyle.

Issues with small and or brittle paint. As someone that can only play a few times a year, running into this ruins the firsr few games and then I'm forced to use my semi.

                  You got my interest ...
I was thinking to turn down the CCI bolt and make a sleeve for the inside of the body 😅

I run a phantom year round and never have issues even in the winter. ASP mod and non-tournament paint and you’re good to go.

It helps to have gear that just works. You know? I don't get to choose the paint since most fields are FPO. And since speedball sells the most paint at most fields, they stock tournament paint.

Sure, we all have this issue though with all guns made before small paint and we all use small paint. My Trracer and my Sniper and my Phantoms all experience rollouts. Because of this I use Freedummy’s wedgits and never have a problem. I have two seasons on the same detents. The ASP body would also totally fix this, so does nail polish. If don’t get how breach/bore drop is relevant at all since the small paint will still roll out.

I supposed you could completely redo the body and bolt by scratch and then you could blow $120 on a freeq kit but by then you’ve spent more than the price of a Phantom making the gun not really a Phantom anymore. To me, really the wedgits and the nail polish and the ASP body all seem way less insane.

I think PRPs are your only option. Unless a revolution fits the bill? (I honestly don't know if they're breech or bore drop, also it's a semi-semi Nelson)

So, I bored my body and barrel for freak inserts long before ASP or Freedummy mods existed. I'd have to buy a new body either way.

I am a purist of functionality rather than historical accuracy. I made a few phantom bodies with cocker barrel threads and angel feedneck threads, but was never happy with the breech drop or my implementation of front frame retention - a separate clamping assembly. I think Rodney found a remarkable solution to the clamp and proved it on the Gargoyles.

Where do you play? Most of the fields in New England have more than just one paint option.
