    frosted valve orings?

I plugged a C02 tank into a Tippmann 98 without pulling the cocking handle back 1st (zzzzzzz) and now i have a leak. It seems to leak down the barrel - so i guess I frosted the valve o-rings. ?
    I rarely use co2 - guess i should have known better. 😐

I guess it's possible, but they are built to handle CO2. If the gas is definitely going down the barrel it might be the cup seal.

The first thing I would do is let it sit and warm up, then try some oil (a couple drops) in the ASA. Gas it back up and shoot it a few cycles (keep in mind the oil will work through the system and shoot out the barrel so don't do this in the family parlor). If that doesn't seal, then you need to pull it apart (degassed first, of course) and look for worn seals.

And at this point I can't help much... I have not had to tear down a 98 valve yet. Assuming they are like a Carbine valve, it's kind of a PITA to tear down... Hopefully it uses a circlip (in which case get the pliers) and not those #&@$- spiral retaining rings
