    Tank with Improper Hydro

Received a Pure Energy 50/4500 that doesn’t have proper hydro stamp, as in no born date. Reg has marking that looks like a date, but not sure. Any info would be appreciate. See photos:

Very odd, I see the mark where the hydro date usually is but no date. Never seen that before

Hahahah wow that's really freakin strange.

Maybe it was a European or Canadian tank? Those don't use DOT stamps, so maybe they put the hydro info in a different spot? IDK.

No, not a Canadian tank. Canadians use the same style as Americans. Most tanks are dual stamped for TC and DOT anyway (as this one is). I'd assume the marking on the reg is the assembly date?

iirc the pure energy brand has been defunct long enough that the tank is 15 years expired, and if not very close to it.

Tank is in Canada and it’s under 62 cu so 15 year life. Visually is in great condition. Using the reg date as a general idea it would be expired in 2024.

It’s definitely a newer Pure Energy you can tell by the logo, but they have been out of the game for a while now. Guess you could send it out for hydro see what happens. If it comes back good send it. Is hydro testing expensive in Canada? It’s like $25 in the US.

I had an 09 PE tank hydrod for 20 bucks. Worth every penny. I ended up trading it to cyberpyr8, but for 20 hucls a few years on the tank is worth the cost imo

As it’s hydro exempt here in Canada what matters is the bottle
life of 15 years. Can you hydro it after the 15 year life? I’ve got other tanks, so we going to sell this one but want to be upfront t about its issues.

List it on the nation as a rare/ag/retro/vintage prototype tank. They will pay a small fortune for it..... Call it like "The Infinity tank" or something because it may never need hydro.

Better than the guys offering $20 for the tank to cover the rehydro cost…. Sigh.
