    Micro Maxflo Questions

Hello, so I've just picked up an sp1 locally with a 3000 psi micro Maxflo and dead tank, and am have a few questions.

Mostly; is this a good reg/is it worth finding another bottle and rebuild for it (I assume it needs one), or should I just sell it rebuilt/as is and use a regular asa?

The reg itself is great, but, as Jordan pointed out, modularity is not its thing.

I like those regs. The tank is mounted much farther forward than normal, so it's kinda like a mini drop forward without the drop. The knob is also easy to turn, so if you're using it on a marker with a crappy safety, you can turn off the air very easily to act as a back-up safety.

But, as the other guys said, you can't easily swap a tank with a micro Max-Flo to another marker with a regular ASA. If you only have one marker and this is your primary tank, then that's not a problem. But if you have a few different markers you use each time you go out, you either need to equip those markers with rails or buy different tanks.

Another thing to consider is the fact that the regulator doesn't bleed when the air is turned off. Again, for some markers, this isn't a problem. You can just shoot the marker a few times with the air turned off to empty the lines. I once had one of these on an Automag with Level 10, however, which doesn't fire if the pressure in the air lines drops off. So getting the air lines disconnected was always a PITA.

Thanks guys. I think I'll be selling it. I assume these aren't worth the trouble to clean/rebuild?

Now just to get the sp1 going...

Owned one once. Worst reg I’d ever come across. Leaked constantly. Sent it in to get fix to Smart Parts and it came back still leaking. Only time I ever got ripped off on buying paintball gear. Guy I bought it from said it worked fine....

Sure you had the 3000 psi reg? The 4500 psi regs definitely had problems with leaks but I've used several of the 3000 psi Mini MaxFlo regs and they are pretty solid and easy to rebuild. I actually have two in queue for rebuild I've picked up on MCB 2.0 over the last several months.

Pretty sure it was 3000. It was years ago now, before I started tinkering more so never tried to rebuild it. But should have been fixed when I sent it in and wasn’t.
