    What threads are these?

So I just got my brand new WGP "Tripple Threat" barrel kit in tonight. Was super excited to try it out on my pump gun.

Well, went to thread it in, and the shank dropped right through the breach. The threads didn't even catch or anything.

Upon closer inspection, the threads are much smaller than the AC barrel I have shown next to it.

I'm wondering if these are Spyder threads or something. The one marked .689 is the thread in question. The other thread is my AC barrel.

    This looks Spyder-ish...

Don't forget Budd had a few Spyder clones in the latter days stable

Not sure if all WGP spyder clone had spyder thread thread barrel. I have a WGP T-ranger (STBB spyder clone) and barrel is cocker threaded

Spyder. Looks like cocker until you compare them side by side.

It was listed as AC threads, and I assumed it would be since its made by WGP.

Now I have the option to either re-sell it, or send it back to the ebay seller.

        Okay, got a question.

Will these tips work with my other AC barrel? i didnt try them yet, as i didnt even think about it until just now.

Here's the other AC barrel that came with my Shocktech Vortex.

Thank you, wasn't sure if they shared the same thread or not.

Its possible. Theres a few older barrels that share the same tip threads.

I wouldn't hesitate to return it if its not something you can use. It wasn't correctly described.

If you have a dial caliper,
the diameter under the thread for a spyder should be 0.785"
          For a cocker its 0.857"

Shank measured .785 diameter. Looks to be spyder thread.

So fun fact, the black tips from the WGP kit DID thread into my J&J back. However, the did not reach all the way down. The J&J tip has a smooth longer section that is un-threaded to reach past the threads in the ID of the back, where-as the black WGP tips do not have this un-threaded portion.

While they do technically thread in, there is a small gap between the back ID and the tip ID.

I wanna say CP and JT also share the same tip thread.

Well, I decided to keep it. I think it's a really cool item, plus I have a Spyder on the way that I just bought.

Worse case, I put it up on the BST.
