    Splatmaster CO2 face seal

The old as dirt 12g pierce pin face seal in the old Splatmaster disintegrated. So what is available today as a replacement?

As far as, I can remember... there never was a pierce pin face seal in a Splatmaster. I know I've never seen 1 personally and mine works/seals just fine. 🤔

Maybe pull the shells apart(beware of trigger spring and detent spring & ball flying out), to check and see, if all of the old seal is completely removed(if there was in fact an old seal). The only time I ever had trouble getting the 12 gram to seal(on a Splatty) was when I had a stripped CO2 plug(cross thread it too many times 😖).

I do recall reading somewhere that splatmasters don't have a face seal. Always wondered how that worked.

Mine had a seal when I bought it, back in 88. It fell out, and seemed to work well enough without it.

Never seen a face seal on a splatty either ...
the pierce pin is extremely tapered and seal the 12g perfectly, so we'll so that sometimes the 12g get stuck on there ... So they added a spring to push the 12g out on later models ...

Years ago I saw a tip posted on these boards that an Automag reg seat would work as a 12g seal if your Splatty has trouble sealing.

FYI it works, but the seat won't stay put consistently. The first time I tried, it lasted a couple years. After that I couldn't get one to stick, so now I just crank the speed wheel a little harder
