    Tank expiration date

I seem to remember that maybe these smallish tanks don't expire but I could be entirely wrong. Anyone know?

Are those 7oz tanks? Looks like they fall under the 2x2 rule ( https://www.mcarterbrown.com/forum/p...what-they-mean )

I think they are probably 7oz and based on measurements they both are under the 2x2 rule.
The tank on the left is stamped with DOT-3E so according to (https://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-id..._1209&rgn=div8) it shouldn't need to be retested.
The tank on the right I am at loss if it needs to be retested. The stamp reads
      "DOT-E7737-1800
      CLIFF DIV
      3-92
      ALUMINUM ALLOY"
Any ideas if it can be used without retesting?

Cliff Div tanks bearing E7737 don't require rehydro.

Just cause the tank says DOT 3E doesn't mean it's exempt. Going by its size I would say so, but without any other info it is hard to tell.

I updated the hydro schedules thread to include the verbage from Catalina/Cliff Div concerning the 2x2 rule but that page is now gone. I will ask them to bring it back or send the info.

          Awesome thanks.
          The full stamp on the left pic is "DOT-3E 1800 TC-3EM 124 M5616 01/IA18/05 A15 -USA-

Just remember that some fields still won't fill them just to be safe on their end. Easier for them to say no than to keep up on these things or take a chance.
