    DP Threshold High Velocity Issue

I tried using my Threshold this past weekend and found that it's no longer firing at safe velocities. Imagine my surprise when the field's chrono was screaming at 425 fps. Yeah, it went back in the car. I'm feeding it from a standard Ninja Pro V2 in its stock configuration. I don't want to remove any shims from the tank reg since I also use it on guns that require higher output pressures like my Automag RT. I've already completely torn down the HPR and replaced & greased every seal. After rebuilding the reg, it's still shooting too fast for my handheld X-radar to clock. Any help?

I would check the HPR. Not the tank's regulator, but the marker's HPR. I would also be very careful of blowing your solenoid in this case as if your HPR is too high, there is no LPR safeguarding your solenoid. There is literally nothing except the PSI of the air that acts to govern FPS.

Also, I've always wanted a Threshold. They were the original DP dump valve marker, and they manufactured the bolt before Dye told them they couldn't do the sealed firing chamber, so the "assassin" mod is one of my favorite "mods" ever. The assassin mod is putting back the missing o-ring on the bolt that Dye made them take off before shipping due to a patent.

I actually rebuilt the HPR with all new seals from an OSK o-ring kit. I had mentioned the tank regulator because I expected that I may receive some responses to remove shims to reduce pressure into the marker. Since I use the tank on multiple markers, this really isn't an option. That being said, I dug around a bit on DP's FAQ page and they claim that velocity in excess of 400 fps is typically due to a bad OPR piston seal. I've already replaced this o-ring, but I'm wondering if maybe the #018 o-ring I used to replace it may be out of spec.

Regarding this particular marker, the previous owner upgraded the bolt with a Tech-T Level 7 engine, an APE Rampage board, and upgraded the eyes as well.

Apparently my problem was two-fold. On one hand, I did need to replace all of the seals in the HPR. The other issue was my own fault. I apparently misaligned one of the shims in the stack. I guess that what I get for trying to do close up work shortly after eye surgery. Now that my eyesight is mostly healed, I saw the problem right away and called myself a dumbass.
