Planet Eclipse: PAL - hype or good non battery hopper

I shouldn't but I'm leaning at getting an Emek and was wondering if the PAL is good or just looks good on paper? Thank you in advance.

It is pretty good. Especially for the price.
It is comparable to maybe an older revvy.

The only issue is if you skip a shot it doesn't agitate since it relies on back pressure to actuate the plunger.

edit: I both bought and kept one of each size to use sometimes and I certainly don't need them. So a definite thumbs up.

They work well, definitely worth the $12-15. I would say on par if not better than any of the best gravity only feeds. much less of the shake and bake to worry about. I used one solely for a month or two this spring. Only really felt out gunned on the hyperball field. I field that i play at on Saturdays we do gravity feed non electronic only for entry level/pump and just low stress fun day. So since it's not battery operated you can run a Pal and it works wonderful.

I don't know if this will help you but this is the only speed feed I found that fits

They generally worked for me, even when full. The one issue I had was shooting uphill. The large pals I was using would lose feed reliably shooting up a steep hill (one I couldn't run up). That was only at one spot at Sherwood Forest, and that was the only time I've run into that angle.

I really like the PAL. Honestly the PAL was what convinced me to switch from my enmey, as I didn't like having to use an electric loader to stop the enmey from chopping. The only time I've had problems with the PAL feeding was when I overfilled it. But, I don't usually do a long sustained stream of high-ROF, only short bursts, so YMMV.

I've tried one on my MG-100 and wasn't impressed. I would rate them as marginally better than a Proto Primo (mostly due to a better lid), but no where near as reliable as a Revolution.

No batts for the win! Main reason I jumped to the pals emek. My playstyle is more pump related: small hopper, 10-round tubes, and 3-ball. I'm too poor to shoot strings lol. Waiting on PB.DNA to release some PAL 50rounders.
