Old ASA and New tank considerations

I have several older markers - all with fresh orings and lube. I am having a hard time getting them to chrono over 200ish. I thought I remembered there being an issue with old pin style ASAs and new ball seat tanks valves? Or am i mistaken? I have 3 different ninja tanks. I have used my tips, TCR, and milsig with these tanks. I used a remote line to the older markers and it didnt seem to make a difference (asa adapter is hollow so it should flow no problem I think).

Basically, I suspect I should just get a ninja SHP tank, or start respringing these blowbacks. What say you, expert's?

Markers in question are BE Raptors and an ICD Cat

Probably not the ASA. Could be a pressure problem. Co2 was higher pressure then most modern HPA tanks. A SHP reg might help you. Also, pending the markers, could be a barrel size issue with modern paint being really small compared to old barrels

Isn't co2 output around 900psi asong as its nice outside? Standard output for hpa is 850, usually above 800.

Yep, a standard ninja is factory set 750-850 and Co2 should be about the same. Just depends on the regulators

Probably just need new springs. A shp reg ain't nessacary for velocity. Though i haven't had one of my brass eagles chronoed like ever. Simply because my field i play at is 300fps and the previous one was 280. I KNOW not a single marker is shooting over 280 let alone anywhere near 300.

i dont know of any of my brass eagles having an issue with a ball vs a pin valve tank reg. Can't test now cause no air or paint .

To what you guys are saying springs would make sense if it's not pressure. When I used the ninja remote line ASA adapter I did not see an improvement. I guess I need to find a source of springs to try....

The only problem I've had with the ball bearing tank valves has been on my bottomline manifold Max Flo regs, which have a longer ASA pin. The pin engages the ball bearing on my Ninja tanks before the o-rings have sealed. My JT tank has a regular pin valve and doesn't have the issue. Easy fix for the Ninja's is a GOG on/off ASA, which also gives me an on/off.

Sounds like it's a pressure issue with both, so re-springing the Raptor would be a good start.

The stock ASA on my pm7 is fussy with the Ninja tank I bought in 2018. You have to back off of the screw a bit to get reliable air.

Okay, I have a FirstStrike tank with a traditional pin style valve. It works flawlessly with my ICD cat. The ninja ball valve not so much.

The pin on the FS tank is recessed, with respect to the face of the valve. The Ninjas ball valve just opens too early since is makes contact first before the orings can seal ... im guessing on this. Maybe if I turn it a little more it would seal up. But I think I will just use the FS tank instead.

I thought somewhere someone made an adapter to accommodate the newer ball seat valves with old ASAs??? No big deal either way now that I got something working
