2nd Annual Splattttttt Memorial game at PNL Paintball

    Hi Northeasterners,

Please join us for the 2nd annual game in honor of our fallen brother Jack "Splattttttt" LoCicero by celebrating with a game format that he created - Birthday Ball!

Birthday ball consists of two teams with straight elimination rules. The catch? You only get 10 rounds. Each player starts with 10 rounds, no spare ammo, no reloads. There will be one 10-rd tube in the middle of the field at the start of the game, if you get to it you may use those 10 rounds as desired.

Stock class guns are preferred as it was Jack's style and we are celebrating him, but as he would want to be inclusive we are relaxing the rules to allow for others to join in regardless of equipment. Anyone can play, but each player is only allowed 10 rounds in the gun.

The game will be held at P&L Paintball in Bridgewater, MA on Saturday May 8, 2021 at 9am.

Pricing $40 - Covers entry, 2 slices of pizza, a bag of paint and air. Bring your own 12 grams.

These events are a great way to introduce naysayers to the Tao of limited paint, especially with the loosened restrictions on marker types. Come one, come all.

Do it for love of the sport
    Do it for Splattttttt

    See you on the field,
    Jonny

            I think I'm in.

EDIT: reading all details isn't my strong suit. Waiting to hear about pricing. Otherwise, I plan on getting the "premium" paint that comes by case only, leaving 3 bags up for grabs if anyone is interested.

Good luck and have fun guys, I will be travelling to/landing in South Carolina that weekend for my permanent move south. I am planning on leaving my Duckslide and some gear at my sisters for those business trips up so I can hang out with you all some.

How close are you to Black Ops? I usually play there once or twice a year when Iā€™m on vacation. Iā€™m in Little River just outside Myrtle Beach. Both black ops fields are nice places to play. The regular players are super chill and fun to hang out with.

I've played a couple of scenarios in the past up at Black Ops been a while. It is about 3 hours from where we are settling down in Lexington area.

On pricing: Last year it was $35 for entry and a bag of paint plus some 12 grams, 10-rd tubes and a pouch. We are not sure if it will be the same this year so we are still waiting to hear back from staff at P&L so please take this with a grain of salt as it could be subject to change. I will continue to update this thread as information becomes available.

Hey folks got an update from Chaos:

According to the original message I got from Mike it was $40 including a bag of paint and air and 2 slices of pizza for lunch. The pouches were just for the first event and were a one-time thing. I'll message Mike and see if the rest is the same

So sounds like it's $40 for entry, paint and air. I assume this is only for constant air, but if/when I hear back from Chaos I will update the thread.

Is that for their field paint or for the "premium" paint? As infrequent as I can manage to play, I don't want paint quality to detract from the fun.

Do we pre-pay or upon arrival?

I do not know the answer to either of these questions. I do not frequent P&L so I can't speak to their paint quality, but I have a hard time imagining that the paint would be bad enough to detract from the fun of the day, especially if each person has a max of 20 shots per game. I did not see any prepay option on the P&L website so I imagine it is pay on arrival. Truth be told I was handed the organizational reins last minute so I'm just about as ignorant as anyone. There might be more information on bookface, but I am not privy to it.

Fair enough regarding the info. We'll figure out the morning of play from the sounds of it.

When accuracy by volume isn't an option the quality of paint becomes of critical importance.
