    FS Roscoe Revolver .50 Cal

Picked up the new Roscoe revolver by First-Strike. Out of the box these shoot about 160 fps. You have to spend another 30 bucks if you want it to achieve higher velocities. I'lll get around to that too.

For me, its too heavy to carry as a sidearm, imo. Excellent backyard plinker potential though.

I will update the thread after I test some FS branded projectiles.

    UPDATE.... results!

    FS branded paint.

Roscoe shoots .50 First Strike flawlessly. (1 full bag)

    Roscoe shoots . 50 Ultra-Spherical flawlessly. (1 full bag)

    Jet Splatmaster Paint

Roscoe was unable to shoot JT Splat Master paint without exploding near the end of the barrel. This particular bag of .50 cal was a bigger bore (size) than the Roscoes barrel.

What was the primary difference between the FS brand paint and the other paint that you used?

Couldn’t determine the brand on the original .50 cal. Vince still has the bag, I’ll have him take a pic.

Primary difference was pretty stark, the original cheap .50 cal paint couldn’t make it out of the barrel. Kept breaking mid way down, seemed to be too tight. The FS rounds performed flawlessly, zero issues.

Are the FSR .50 cal rounds paint filled or powder filled?

Paint filled, green to be exact.

What is the difference in the stock and the high impact valve?

Haven’t had the chance to test one yet, still waiting on the mail. FS sells this “High Impact Valve’ which increases the velocity to the 280-3hundo range. Out of the box this thing shoots 160fps, really under powered.

Copy on that. Why would they sell it with a crapy valve?

Any idea where I can buy the Roscoe. I've been on a waiting list since before the pandemic.

.50 JT paint purchased from ANS. It's the cheapest .50 I could find at the time but it shoots great in the TR50 so that's what I use.

            From receipt:

Just an update, this paint now (also) suffers from the same "under-size" issues as other paint brands. Standards have fallen!

What kind of metal is the Roscoe made out of? Can it be tigged with aluminum?

Not pot metal? I just got an email that it is pot metal like the 3357s...

Curious about the barrel clam shell... is there an actual ball on the inside of that clam shell? Does it look like another 50 cal barrel can be modified to fit in place of the stock barrel?

Yeah, it’s a clamshell. I only had it open once and wasn’t looking or considering an application like replacing the barrel.

Smiley, I pulled a screenshot of an advertisement on ANSgear where they appear to confirm its aluminum. Thats if you trust their advertisement. You might want to DM Lt. head-shot who helped me mill down the barrel, he owns a Roscoe too. He might even have the extra bits leftover.

infamoussmiley I'll grab some pictures for you tonight. My guess is you would not be able to TIG it, it is very clearly a casting, so I doubt the quality would be there in order to TIG it.
