    Returning to the sport (Hopefully)

Before diving back in headfirst I've been looking for fields, making sure the community is healthy enough that I can actually make the argument to purchase gear and get back into things. Was a big fan of TWB, started reading it again and in my wife's dresser I found a very old piece of gear, a skull Sandana and an Evil Tshirt. Nostalgia hit, and now I really want to play again as an excuse to get back into shape. Used to be a regular on PBN but as I stopped playing around 2012, the last thing I owned was a Walz modified PGP, which is kinda what I want to be back on the field with. Need something else to keep me leaving the house aside from the weekend TTGS.
I could have sworn I had something important to put here...

Welcome back. Walz is still making some amazing things these days, when he isn’t crushing his thumbs. You might find that skull sandals is worth a good amount. Paintball appears to be heavy into retro and people are paying crazy amounts so things like certain era JT flexes etc. Hopefully you find a nice field and start playing again!

Yeah if that's a legit sandana you can probably fund your whole return to the sport by selling it

Yeah seriously. That sandana may be gold. I snagged a gearbag years ago for a pgp, and in the bottom of the box was an old sandana. I think I paid 150 for the box. Got 250 on the sandana the next day. (In a feverish pm stemming from my appraisal post mind you).

the downside is, the group you will get the most cash out of is on Facebook.

I recently decided to get back into paintball too. I was trying to find a DVD in my entertainment center and found Hero's for a Day The XSV Story, I haven't watched it since probably 2012. So I popped it in the DVD player and all the nostalgia came back. So I decided to sign back into PBN and MCB and start looking for new gear. Unfortunately I sold my CCM S6 in 2017 for $350 to a buddy of mine and now I'm seeing they're selling for almost $1,000. But, I'm excited to start playing again.

I have been having fun recently been back myself, turns out all of my old favorite still work and can be a conversation piece at the local fields. I have been really happy to see more older people out there, it isn't just for the kids!

Where are you located? That will help us direct you to places to play and people to shoot.

I'm in Colorado Springs. Iirc there was a really cool dude with an outlaw field called Hooligan if memory serves me correct. Glad Walz is still doing things, currently made the bad idea of looking on ebay and there's currently a phantom internaled Nelspot I'm watching, and was like... 'I wonder if he still does airsmithing'. I don't do facebook but when I get home I'll dig out the sandana for those who do. Loving the love. I posted a wtb thread, been doing silly silly amounts of overtime lately (yay mission essential!) And was like "All the bills are paid and I have money in savings...guess I can gear up and get in shape over winter."

I found it! I don't think it gets more authentic than this. I'll post it up in the right spots later, maybe on nation as well. Gave it a good wash and dry.

That’s probably worth $100+ I would keep it and use it tho. Your gunna want one anyway.

Nice to see you again! Takes me back to when we all BSed in the Newbie OT on the Nation.

In a nutshell, old stuff fetches a premium (as others have said), mech is in, and cockers skyrocketed in price. They seem to have stabilized a bit now, though.

Glad to see you too man. I think regardless of if I can play or not I want to stick around here. MCB was always a good bunch of people. I'm not sure if I miss playing more or being part of an engaging community.

I would just go out a rent stuff and check out the local seen before you drop a bunch of cash. But we here at MCB can definitely help you spend your money.

I had a few longer hiatuses myself.

Was injured pretty bad many years back. Tried playing again a few times once I was back on my feet but I couldn’t really do too much, pain was high and I got disheartened and sold most the gear that really didn’t have meaning to me.

Fast forward a few years and I have young kids. So many of my other hobbies have been sidelined (off roading and adventure motorcycle touring) due to lack of time. So I dusted off the paintball gear I do still have and got out to play. Met some awesome people here and Been having a blast lately and really happy I’m back. I still can’t accomplish much on field and my physical limitations kinda sets me back but I’m having fun regardless.

My suggestion is just get out and play a few games. Rent, or buy a cheep blowback Or what ever. But get out and have some fun.

I know myself I never stopped liking paintball. I just believed I couldn’t really do it anymore and now I know that’s not true I make an excellent target for many to shoot lol.

I think the most important thing about coming back to it is something that my S/O noticed, that no matter what hobbies I got into or things I did, I always lit up more when paintball became the topic. So, I'll probably do a little bit of a, a little bit of b. I like teching my own gear and I like bringing a conversation piece out, and engaging people. I've got one expensive hobby, but, it's one that's mostly sorted now, and doesn't need much expansion. So I figured I could do this again. I appreciate the good words, and the bilking me out of $$ lmao. Nah, Like I said, never had a bad time buying from anyone on here, and I don't think I ever will.
