    Ion Regulator covers?

I just picked up an ion and I’d like to go a bit more pink with it, but pink parts are hard to come by short of the body. I can offset the pink with silver, I think that’ll still look okay, and I can buy the silver bits almost anywhere.

The regulator is my only hang up. All I’ve been able to find are these:

I’m not even sure if that’s a legitimate website.

edit: I guess the other things are worth a mention. The accent bits: feednexk, asa, barrel, grips, etc.

First off, are you sure it even works?

There's a handful of parts for the ion (beyond cosmetics) that are hard to come by these days. While the reg covers can still be had I wouldn't go investing too much money in a marker that is difficult to keep running

E-Paintball is legitimate, but inactive at the current time. The website won't let you place an order (everything is listed as out of stock) and if you somehow manage to get past that, payment will not be taken.

I’m actually sure it does not work. It was sold to me no working. There’s a hugely active ion group on Facebook. It’s actually a quite popular marker these days. Who knew? You’re right though, I need to make sure I can get it running before ordering cosmetics.

Thanks for the information about E-Paintball.

Sure, there's groups for every marker though. Vanguard was a European company that was only operational for like 3 years, they have a group on fb

I don't think I've seen an ion at the field in like 2 years.

Anyway my real concern is parts, the banjo bolts in specific, there's 2 larger ones and one smaller one, that smaller one is impossible to find. Last time I needed one, there simply were no new ones. You had to buy used ones and hope the plastic casing was not cracked. If it leaked, you then need to take the tiny e clip off, order the 1mm o rings and replace them inside the banjo bolt, then wait for the planets to align so that will actually fix it

You should definitely get this thing working first before you sink money into cosmetics.

Appreciate the heads up. I’ll definitely start with parts before making it pretty. Ha. I’ll post up once confirmed running.

Head to the smart parts section here. You will find good stuff. There's a few of us here that are pushing what you can do with an old Ion. I have 5 or so, I lost count lol. I'm working on my 3rd mechanical swap (which is ultimately where they will all end up after all of the old electronics are used up). The Ion XE is also a good platform worth looking into because it's a bolt out back version of the Ion, so you basically won't ever have to take the small air fittings apart unless they actually fail.

Those banjo bolts should be easily replaced by factory standard air fittings, especially the small one since it's just autococker hose.

They are - i haven't used standard Ion banjos for quite some time in my builds.

They're not the cheapest but if you're not trying to flip for profit then it doesnt matter.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

I have a pink set of grips, but the regulator has the windows cut out. You can have them for the cost of shipping if you want them

Appreciate the offer, but I’m probably going to go a different route. Thank you though!

Oh and I usually replace the little fitting with a QEV anyway. Clippards are still abundant but 360s or really any that swivel are ultimate if you end up taking your gun apart alot.

Damnit, why does nobody tell me these things

Wait, the hose sizes are different than front block hose, what do you do about that?

Sorry I misspoke. Only the hose after the solenoid is cocker pneumatic hose. The other 2 are different. That said, the larger hose is still a standard size hose, so there are definitely standard fittings for it.

These adjustable right angle hose barbs are the most compact ones we’ve been able to find thus far in 10-32 thread. Available sizes are EA-LB10 (1/16″ barb), EA-LB20 (5/64″ barb) …

Pick the right size for the tubing you plan on using.

Funny side note... Out of the blue, my Clippard guy called me and asked if I knew the Air Soldier guy??!?! We are in the same town. So weird...

Have Blue is like a famous recluse. It's a proper nick name for him. We are always looking to get some special part from him.

I have a model I've been working on for a reg cover. I printed one and it lasted for about 6 months till the cutouts started breaking. (too thin!) It's been on my mech Ion. I plan on beefing up the model and making it more girthy while still keeping the grip design. I won't be doing any revisions till I'm on full on holiday PTO mode in a few weeks. I've got a few design changes but nothing solid till I get all up in there with the calipers. So with that being said, if you don't get a good solution, I may have something for you into the new year.
