    Coming back since about 2014

Hello, just wanted to make a post. I started playing paintball back in 2007ish, played until about 2014 and stopped. I was a paid member on here for years under a different account. I went back to my local filed and everything was way different, more mech guns and improved woodsball fields. It got me excited and im wanting to get back into the game!

Welcome back. Since you're on MCB let the buying, selling, modding, and hoarding begin.

I dunno what celestial force caused it, but it seems a ton of 30 somethings and older have jumped back into the sport this year. Its really making for an awesome vibe.

We can all finally afford to buy those wicked guns we've always wanted.

You know I went to a field about 4 years ago just to see if I got the vibes to get back into it, I didn't. The attitudes were bad, "cool" speedball kids all over. It was complete opposite when I went a few days ago. I hope I get into it again and it stays that way.

Welcome back. I certainly feel like the number of hothead speedballers has dropped, and the mech craze has brought along a better community.

I felt like my local fields was all speedball guys, some cool some not. The older i get the more i see them as not cool lol. I liked that game play sometimes but I loved woodsball, we had an outlaw group for years and when it faded away I felt like that was it. I'm glad it seems to be coming back more at official fields.

Welcome back! I see you like Ions, check out all the cool stuff in the Smart Parts section. Those things are dirt cheap and you can do just about anything with them now.

I think I stole the name actually lol. I remembered it from years ago and it was available again. My old name was MIDWESTHIPPO117

Welcome back! The local community here also feels more laid back than when I stopped back in the day. Enjoy buying more stuff you don't really need.

Another 30-something looking to get back into things. Played a ton as a teen, still have my custom anodized ICD B2K kicking around somewhere...

Cool! I picked one up in a “please buy my paintball crap!” box on Craigslist. Needs a bottomline, hose, and switch but otherwise it seems to be in good condition. No custom ano, but I’m looking forward to shooting it. What did you like about yours?

Honestly they're just solid machines. Keep it serviced and it'll serve you well. From a playing perspective, they're tall as fuck, but it does keep hopper out of your vision.

Welcome back! I’m just getting back into paintball myself after a 5 year break. The fields were even busier than I remember, but I only saw a few regulars and it’s mostly rentals now. I like my field too much to not play there, so I’m thinking of picking up a pump for recball and looking for a field to play speedball and maybe get into some local tournaments. Really glad to see others getting back into it!

My experience was similar. After most of the regulars left me and another guy had to grab rental guns( no charge) in order to mix in with the adult renters. Next time I’ll bring my tippman and hopefully they will let me use that.

I really like the emeks my field has, they go a long way to leveling the playing field.

posting to say I'm in the same boat! Played until I went to college in 07, so 15 years for me but now getting back into it.

Welcome back to the game. I took about 13 years off myself, jumped right back in, now I'm here to stay.

I think I must have everyone beat - I left the game entirely in 2002 and only got back into it last year. It was quite a shock to say the least.

Maybe, maybe not. Define "got back into it." :-)

I believe there are some on this board who have not played a game since the century turned.

That’s an Excal I’m holding in my profile picture. That was a great gun. I’ve done the opposite of you. Have already accumulated several Cockers already since last year, but no Excals or Vikings. Maybe one day if one comes along.

That's one trend I just can't get behind. Paintball pants should be BAGGY damn it.

Agreed with baggy pants. I remember buying jerseys and pants 2 sizes bigger to get that "curtain" effect and more bounces. Comfort and heat be damned.

If I can still zip up all my old core Division pants that's what I'll be wearing, ain't going out in those 'jogger' pants or skinny jeans.
          Working...
