    I want a trilogy, but....

Nostalgia time: one of my first times ever playing paintball, I got teamed up with this retired military guy who was rocking around with a WGP Trilogy and at that time, that guy with that gun looked so dang cool. We held a fort in the woods while our team got wiped on either side of us. Dan (I think) was just calmly calling out targets and chugging away with the 'Cocker. The adrenaline and thrill of that day definitely got me coming back for more.

Nearly 15 years later I have money to throw at paintball gear I don't need and I wanna know this: Is the trilogy actually a decent gun? How available are parts, and would it be better to just search for a different autococker in decent shape? I remember ages ago, the general consensus on the internet was that the Trilogy was temperamental and didn't always run well. Is that true or were my teenager friends just bad at maintaining their guns?

I'm familiar with maintaining other guns, but have no knowledge of how to care for an autococker. Is there a video guide or tutorial available for general maintenance?

The base trilogy is a decent shooter. Guys like myself have been modding them for awhile now. Alot of people like the trilogy because there is no adjustment to the 3way unless you get an aftermarket timing rod. It helps make them easier to use. I would recommend getting a regulator as most of them do not have one factory.

So like a CP or DYE reg, and maybe a CP on/off while it's apart, and it's solid?

Dye regs may require an extra shim to get it to bump up the pressure depending on where it falls. pretty much. I would recommend a barrel kit if you don't have one already.

Only base blue model of trilogy doesn't come with a reg the rest of them come with one

Not trying to talk you out of a Trilogy, but there's a couple good priced 2K3 Autocockers up right now. Probably for the same price you'd find a Trilogy plus a reg.

******** Sold ******** New O-rings front to back. I did reuse the bolt o rings, those blue wgp ones never seem to deteriorate. This does have a new HPR reg seat. New macroline and 3 way hose. The body of the marker is in really good shape, there is one spot on the front block and feed neck as pictured with marks. $245 + $10

Got this is a bag of gear and I won’t be using it. The body appears to be in pretty good condition but will definitely need a thorough cleaning. Not much in the way of upgrades but does have some SP grips, some type of bullet 3way, lapco drop, and a poor condition black magic bolt. The chrome is flaked off, needs orings and

You can always get a Trilogy too!

CPs run great on a trilogy. Better yet, just grab a trilogy pro and leave it alone. It comes with a reg which is fine and the marker will never go out of adjustment. There is one or two on ebay right now.

My only beef with the trilogy is the feedneck which either does or doesn't fit your hopper. Otherwise, the internet just gives them a bad reputation because they were more affordable and you didn't have to be a cocker guru to run one.

I say go for it, they are great

I didn't know the pro had a reg. In that case I'd possibly still install an on/off and recycle the steel hose if it'll hold air.

Trilogy competition had a reg too, tactical did too i think. I love my trilogy. Set up right they are incredibly fast and consistent. You can always buy another cocker. .

As others have said, Trilogies are fine and it’s fun to scratch that nostalgia itch. Just figure out your budget first and look to see what the same money gets you for a standard Autococker. You might find one you like better than a Trilogy, or find the Trilogy offers way better bang for the buck.

I'm hoping to stay under $300 with either a super tricked out trilogy or whatever other gun. The only other cockers that I'm also highly attracted to would be the Orracle, a Karnivor, and some of the last-gen Black Magics. I've only heard bad things about the karnis but they look so hot lol. I'm also guessing nearly none of those would be in my price range though.

Yes, those are all pricy bodies unfortunately. for $300’US likely be standard 2k bodies. Your budget should be more than amble for a nice Trilogy though!

Someone will correct me if I’m wrong but I thought the Trilogy Sport was the only trilogy that didn’t have a reg and has a gas through. It’s also designed to run at high pressure so might need respringing to benefit from a reg.

If the Trilogy is what you are looking for Grab a Trilogy Pro they shoot great and are definitely a reliable shooters. They are older so if you buy one used that hasn’t been maintained it will take replacing some orings to get it up and running. But when you do they make great cockers.

I would not suggest a cocker without learning how to tune one. Very few are set it and forget it markers. They are more for people who like to tinker or like them for nostalgia. But out of all the cocker variants I feel like the Trilogy is the least problematic. It’s not something that you can’t learn from a few good YouTube videos, but today you can buy a marker that you really don’t have to do anything other than learn how to chronograph it. Like an Emek so really think about what your looking for.

Just search YouTube for “Autococker Tuning” see if it’s something you even want to take on.

Cunha should post his Trilogy masterpiece in here. I don't think there's any of us who wouldn't want it. Though he did give us the chance briefly a while back.

In your budget range, a trilogy is the best way to go. And IMO, Trilogies shoot better than regular cockers anyway. Here's mine:

As others have said, avoid the sports (blue ones) unless they've been heavily upgraded already. The competition (red/black), Pro (purple chrome), and tactical (black or camo) came with a good reg from the factory. Add a good barrel kit, an on/off if you desire, and drop the LPR a bit and you're good to go. Maybe put a different frame on it later on down the line. Anything beyond that is pretty much a waste of time and money.

Just be aware that the stock trilogy springs are kinda garbage. They weaken after a few years of use, at which point your velocity will drop into the dirt. Not a huge deal to fix, just be aware that it'll happen.

This sight is a 32 Degrees Magnum sight. They were a knockoff of the DYE Izon sight. You can find them floating around, but I wouldn't spend more than $20 for one. I have to file it down to actually get it onto the rail.

I like mine. I use them a lot against rental newbies/woodsball and they just work. I would like to try an aftermarket lpr adapter but stock lpr works fine. The feedneck fits a revvy or they did make a slip over feedneck adapter. They're really uncommon though.
