Supergame Central Sherwood Forrest, Laporte Indiana June 25-27, 2021

Who plans to hit this game. Looks like a legendary field.

Hmm. Dunno if Id be able to go yet, but Sherwood is definetly legendary.

And I havent been there since they started the sunken ship, which I assume is finished.

Ill have to put this on radar and see if the stars align.

I need to get at least one day off work for this. I've been meaning to drive over to the field, just haven't done it yet.

As long as, I'm not dead and/or rotting away in prison and have the needed funds/transportation...😒 I'd go for the social gathering. I've never actually been to a SG, that I can remember. Castle conquest is probably the largest or close to largest event(Nam' game at USANA-MTC gun range in NJ..May have been the largest..🤔), I've attended.
Is Flounder bringing his tank. Or have you not, got to, finished that yet. I still have a nerf launcher but, it's just a homemade tank/bunker/building wall buster.

I know that's a lot of moving parts... Probably should just mark me down for.. not able to make it....😏

Hmmm.....🤔...almost, as close as, Linglestown or the Wanna Play fields to me....13hr round trip vs a 12hr round trip.

No tank for this one. Homemade launchers are a no go for this event.

Went team blue since the rec ball team i play with is playing blue and so is a member on here who texted me about going. Got a real cheap motel 15 minutes from the field so i can shower and not reek.

I really liked Sherwoods field it plays awesome. But the game rules and way they balance the games won’t have me make it the trip ever again. Last event I went to I spent more time walking to the spawn because they would just pull players and say “you just got killed by a sniper” “your out” it was obvious they were using it to manipulate the game because the people running the game wanted one side to win. They did by a land slide after they lost 50% of there players on the 2nd day. It got so bad that you had to avoid the refs because if you got close to them they would send you to the respawn just because. Only way to stay alive was to make it difficult for the ref to pull you for no reason. It was ridiculous I got “Magic sniper shot pulled” more then actually getting hit with paintballs. Oh and the amount of invincible players on the field was ridiculous and created nothing but problems because they were not clearly marked so people were getting over shot and getting into arguments because it was so poorly managed. I feel like open play there would be fun with a big group. The field is super cool I’m glad I got to play it. Maybe if I’m passing threw that way again I might give open play a try. But the scenarios are over complicated and poorly managed. 11hr drive for that never again. I was super excited to play that field and it was nothing but a massive disappointment and a long ride.

Definitely hoping they improved since id hate to deal with some BS for my first big game in awhile. Though im not a hardcore scenario guy and just do my best to go in the direction of the missions im supposed to be doing. You know like go to this area and keep the slapstick or flag your color for 15 minutes etc. Never cared for the super extra s*** that was just confusing AF. And thats only if the generals and commanders make it clear what to do when im at spawn. I don't have a radio so i only know the new objectives when im waiting to respawn. Otherwise im just going where the most shooting is and try to have fun. Sorry for the hardcore guys who hate people like me but I don't go to these events to get sucked into who wins and waste my time and money getting pissed off about nothing.

also anyone know where i can find an itinerary for the event? With the times of when everything goes on and stuff?

It was more about killing playing time that was frustrating. The walk to the spawn stole at least 15min of play then it was timed spawns so every time you got pulled you were out of play for 25min+ when that happens 6-7x a day it’s frustrating after driving 11hrs to play the game. Especially when you literally got pulled because you were in the proximity of a ref on the front line. I’m not a scenario guy. I like to just play paintball and I like the target rich environment of scenarios. I let others play objectives. I like the battle part of it. I don’t care about who wins I just like to battle. They were just pulling random players who were making moves on the field trying to balance the game. There was a number of time I worked my butt off getting a forward position battling it out only to be told to go back to the spawn for 20-30min. When that didn’t work the dumped a bunch of invincible players on the field with little to no oversight. People were getting over shot like crazy they lost a 1/3 of the players the 2nd day I heard. So it wasn’t just my guys that were disappointed.

Maybe it was just the game we attended but Sherwood was one of my bucket list fields. The field plays awesome especially if your the type that likes to push it’s got lots of cover, unique structures and terrain. Paint shot great 45fills even with the numbers that they had the field didn’t choke. It was clean and safe they had a bunch of vendors. I snagged (NIB) 3 JT Rage frames for like $20 each so that payed for my trip. Just wish it was better managed and they just let people play.

if there are targets, I will shoot at them. I tend to avoid the BS just to have fun, it just isn't worth it. if it gets really bad, there is beer in the campsite, I am good with that.

I got invited to go to this event about 4 days before it started, and had to scramble to make it happen with work etc. I'm glad I did as the field was fantastic.

I hadn't played anything other than magfed only in about 8 years, so it was definitely a change of pace (i.e. I died a lot under hails of paint lol). Was a lot of fun.

                          1) It rained A LOT. It was still a heap of fun, and I wouldn't change it for a thing.
                          2) The field is fantastic. Really well maintained from debris/waste etc.
                          3) Ref's were good. I never saw any 'magic sniper' stuff that was talked about earlier.
                          4) Mixing first strike into a hopper game was a lot of fun. I tried playing : first strikes, hopper, boxmag and paint in mags.
                          5) Honor was high that I personally saw, and spoke to a lot of other players that said the same.

Only issue I had was the GI paint. It was oval, and the FPS swing was 30 to 40 fps. I'm not even kidding, I have never seen paint swing that wild. The other paint most people used I believe was marbs, and was kinda squishy so bounced. The paint truck turned up late at 2pm, so I absolutely do not blame the field at all for this, we literally got the paint off the truck to use.

Overall it was a great time, and I can't help but recommend Sherwood Forest paintball. I haven't seen this level of commitment to a paintball site since I left the UK. I would definitely go back and play again. (12+ hour journey was 100% worth it).

Met some really fun people (shout out to 906 Army and yelling 'butt stuff!' in the night game to help locate the team lol.

After this game, I'm considering other's like Fulda gap. I will still prioritize magfed events though.

PB Sports - Seriously check this lesser known seller out. After speaking to them, they seem to have a very good ethos.
