So I'm looking at sign ups now, and wanted to get an opinion. What is the epitome of the D-Day experience? I got to do this once, looking like ever. So what's is the essence of D-Day?

My buddies and I have played on both sides, but I think the most fun I’ve ever had was playing with the Allied 4th ID in 2019, it was a blast!

Personally I think I eliminated substantially more people attacking than I ever did defending.

That is different for every single player. For some, it is seeing (and sometimes shooting) friends that we see only once a year. For others, it is being in a huge game on 600 or so acres. For others it is being in a game with twenty tanks or more roaming the field (both sides combined). Some come for the week long experience of being around paintball for a week. And then there is the March of the Ark.

Well plans have changed a little but still going. Myself and another MCB member from NY are playing Global Conquest at Hellsurvivors then leaving Tuesday morning to D Day. We are staying at the casino and playing Wednesday thru Saturday. Is there any plans for a MCB group pic?

I am leaning towards either the 358th (I think?) or the 1st, since those are the biggest beach units. Do they only play that area of the field though? And what about the rest of the week? I was planning on making it for almost the entire week.

Edit: Got my unit with the Brandenburg Commandos, and will be doing articles on it as well!

For those who haven't been to the game before, there are some things you really need to bring. The single most important piece of gear (outside of the mandatory clothing and masks) is a camelback. Bring LOTS of water. If you drink things like Gatorade or Powerade, drink an equal amount of water. Bring sunscreen. Bring bug spray. Everyone has their favorite; I use the lemon eucalyptus based stuff from Walmart and add essential oils of lemongrass and lavender. Be prepared for at least one big day of rain. Extra batteries for anything you have that needs batteries, and some extra cash.

Any recommendations on size or type of camelback? There are an absolute ton out there.

Size matters not, as the little green guy would say. There is Potable water buffalos at every spawn so it's easy to refill. That said, I have the 1.5L size.

I use 2 liter. The size you choose should, in my opinion, balance the weight you can carry, how much you will be moving, and how long you can reasonably expect to stay out of the DZ at a time. If you are in the Kommandos, I suggest you go with 2L and save weight elsewhere.

I'm 30 years old and haven't played paintball since high-school 😅. Long story short, I come to find that this year will be the very last Oklahoma D-Day event. Ever since I was a kid I always wanted to go but never managed to make it. I'm not missing this one, especially considering I live an hour and a half away now!

I dug through a box of my old stuff and found my A5 and my little brothers 98 custom from the early 2000s. I got everything tore down, cleaned up, and rebuilt with fresh o rings, lube, and a few parts I ordered. My A5 has a tac stock, fang trigger, and a hammerhead barrel. The 98 has a stock and lighter spring on on trigger.

I'm excited to get back into it !

I'll be on the German side with the 352nd. My fat a$# doesn't feel like charging a beach 🤣.

If you've never been, go... I was lucky to be living just south of KC when the first OKDD started, we had like a total of 160-180 players. I've been to about 8 DD's, some years were better than others but despite any short comings you always made some great friends (on both sides). I've played on both sides...and never was disappointed in finding enough to keep me busy. Personally my favorite games were heading up the Allied Anti-tank unit and going head to head with my 'Ol buddy Bill Bailey and his German Tanks. Like others have been saying... stay hydrated, mix your water with Gatoraid or other sports drink that has electrolytes, that's key. Also... don't forget the Medicated Gold Bond. I've lost count but OKDD is always famous for having a tornado or 2 blow thru the game/campsite so if it's been a few years expect one....after all it's Oklahoma!

Looks like I'm buying a last minute 3 day pass, didn't realize it's the last D Day! I'm rolling solo from Kansas City Thursday morning most likely, running mechanicals most likely. Saw they say 'No CO2' on their website, does that include twelvies?

CO2 in 12g's is allowed. The Park does not fill CO2 bottles.
