    Info on Teflon MiniMags

Picked up a classic valved black mimimag today. I'm guessing its a Teflon one, left feed. Not too sure about it. Definitely a period piece. ANS phase 2 x chamber, stainless steel braided, cut CF frame, SP wood grips, SS Dye Twistlock boomie. Serial is in the 42xxx with 1 star?

$200 I thought was fair so I snapped it up quick. Now, what would you do?

X valve, retro, or keep it classic?
    I'm thinking intellaframe or X.
Definitely going to get a cocker barrel adaptor, I think it'll look awesome with my black tactical Kaner kit.

    Thanks

You can put a level 10 if you want anti chop, it work with a classic valve
X valve will be a lot more expensive, its lighter than the SS valve but if you are ok with the weight as it is, classic valve work good

Good price for a mag with SP wood grip they are worth around $60 alone

For the frame I like single finger trigger CF frame and I would recommend trying it as is at lest once, but you have plenty of options like Nummech (if you like humpback frame with integrated macroline), intelliframe, luke and other

Recently going through a mag renaissance financial apocalypse myself, it’s been great. If you can source them I’ve found aluminum single trigger grim frames to feel the best. That’s just me. I’ve used/teched both x and classic valves, and I prefer the classic, sold my x valves. Not an expert just a dude tryin to abide, cheers.

Man, in our modern era of 10.5 bps caps, and the return of mech semi's to prominence, I really don't see much point in 'upgrading' a classic valve to a X-valve. It's not much of an upgrade except in terms of weight savings, since alot of fields won't let you run a RT/X-valve at higher bps rates. Plus, why would you need 15+ bps in recball games? A new X-valve cost almost $100 more than a new Emek! Weight aside, the Classic valve, when paired with a Lvl 10 bolt, is amazingly consistent and easy on paint. It was a great design and it still performs well. Add that with a Doc's barrel adapter and it makes for a nice shooting, dependable mech. I hate double triggers, so can't help you there.

I believe the RT on/off is drop in compatible on a classic valve, and a worthwhile upgrade, as I’m told it reduces trigger weight, but I forget by how much?

I like it. Definitely noticeable but I haven't measured. I like the Intelliframe a lot too and Doc's Adapter is Solid.

Good price for the marker you bought. But you should post a picture for our enjoyment.

The classic valve is reliable and shoots great. Attached is a picture of mine.

              So, first off, thanks everyone.

Next, it looks like I'll be keeping the classic valve but adding a level 10 bolt. Going to ditch the expansion chamber and go with a bike grip, and intellaframe (eventually maybe even an y grip). There's a place here in Toronto thay sells similar cocker to twist lock adaptors for $30, so I'll grab one of those too

As for the on/off I'll probably go with an RT as mentioned above. However, I'm wondering of a ULT on off would work?

My Tac One has an Xvalve and ULT, but I'm wondering if I could swap my ULT from it with an RT?

As soon as I snap a picture I'll get some before and after shots up. Thanks again.

I've got one of those adapters, seems pretty decent... I haven't used it enough to see how durable aluminum is vs. the SS that Doc's adapters use, time will tell on that one.

ULTs, in theory, won't work... there are a few people why report being able to make them work, but the RT on-off will work with no fiddling, and to be honest you'll likely be happier going that route.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."
