I use an old duckbill ASA with the port on the left and run about a 10-12" loop of braided steel line from there to the valve body (on the right) with a quick disconnect. This diagonal backward loop lets me switch hands comfortably without the line pressing against my wrist on either side. I use a skinny foregrip where the vertical ASA would otherwise be.

The Automag: Not as clumsy or random as an electro. An elegant marker for a more civilised age.

One micromag I have has the gas through grip with HP macroline going from the gas ASA to the gas through. And another short line to the valve. For this one I like it better because it’s a longer gun so I have the grip anyways so it doesn’t get in the way.

for my old school micromag gen 1 with a fixed barrel, it goes from the asa towards the front of the gun and loops back to the valve. For a pistol set up I like this way more. If you switch hands while playing then keeping the line out of the way is something to consider.

Never had the fixed steel lines but they look so sweet and always loved them
