What is the size of Orracle three-way spool o-rings?

    Greetings,

What is the size of the o-rings on an Orracle three-way spool? If you know, please state the specs in their entirety, and not just a common abbreviation. I need to get hold of a set, and it is incredibly hard to in Europe, where everyone - myself included - doesn't have a single clue to imperial o-ring specs. Oh, and that would include any store actually selling o-rings for a living, not that I can blame them.

Speaking of which, would you happen also happen to know where I can source them in Europe, I would be overjoyed.

AutocockerParts.com has The Largest selection of Autococker Parts and Autococker Orings online.

You mean this set, correct? If no one gives you the correct answer by 1500 EST I can dig into my parts kit and find the note I have written for myself about the oring sizes. I had some trouble sourcing them before cockers became cool again and I know I wrote a list of oring sizes in a small notebook.

Yep, the larger of the two.
I have trawled through quite a large number of threads, spanning more than a decade, and this question is thrown around a lot, but never an answer other than a link to a purchase.

So a correct answer would be most appreciated. Oh, I'm not in a hurry or anything, but I am curious to see if there are any MCBers out there that interprets 15:00 EST as a challenge.

According to my notes they are 009-buna-70.

          Much obliged, my fellow.

Edit: Would that be 7/32 X 11/32, or can that spec mean different o-rings. More specifically, what does 009-buna 70 mean?

If I sound clueless, it's because I am clueless. Your system is about as incomprehensible, as if you used the Chinese alphabet for o-rings. I really, REALLY need this spelled out for me.

This is the spec you're looking for. Hopefully this short webpage helps spell it out better than I can on here.

Also: Buy a bunch extra. They are really easy to nick and cut while assembling that spool. I also destroy at least one just getting them all on.

Thanks a bunch. You're setting an example for all the two tooth hillbillies out there.

Hi, I've reviving this necro thread, as I am having the same issue with the spool orings when re-building an orracle 3-way.....I have a couple generic oring kits, and my size 009 orings matches the outer diameter of the bad spool oring I took off the 3way. But the orracle spool oring is a skinnier , thinner oring than the size 009 in my kit? When I install the 009 from my kit on the spool, the oring sits too high, and I can't install the spool back in the 3way body.

              What gives?

Try a smaller oring, like a 008 or 007... stretching them will "reduce" the seal's thickness slightly, letting them sit slightly lower in the oring groove.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

Meleager7 - I use snapring pliers sometimes to help stretch them over...

I purchased bootleg amazon orings originally, and the Buna-70's were more like buna 90 when compared side by side with authorized Caterpillar replacement seals. If a size down works for you, that's awesome!

To add on to snap ring pliers.... I leave the old orings on. I push a new oring until it's next to the slot I want to replace and then cut that oring out with a scalpel. I found this to be the easiest way to replace them if you don't have snap ring pliers or are at the field.
