    My modded Trilogy SF - "Portable" grip installation

    So I wanted to make a post for this because it's my first cocker and I'm proud of it, but also because i think some of it is original and might be interesting to you.

    When I got it, it needed a full rebuild and was missing its barrel and ASA. The owner before its previous owner also left me a 10 year old battery inside - how considerate.

    The Eyes were pretty corroded and two wires snapped off. I actually had to use some of my chemical soldering tip refresher to get the pads to take solder again.

    Adjusting the operating pressure was a pain and I still have some work cut out to me because this Germany-Compliant gun has been capped either via its HPR spring or its Hammer spring. 240fps max right now.

    I'm really happy with the braided hose. (It's a slightly shorter than original piece from my speedster MG) I originally opted for push-fittings but for some reason the ones I had very loose threads despite me specifically ordering G1/8 and not metric...

    Initially on the hunt for an on/off ASA I stumbled upon this Tippmann LPR and it piqued my interest. When initially setting up the LPR I noticed that the piston in the grip requires a much higher pressure to trigger reliably than I'd ideally want to put on the ram.

    As an added bonus, I would eventually like to have a mech frame for this marker to swap back and forth and this would allow me to leave front pneumatics untouched everytime I do so. It also would allow me to install this grip on any cocker I own in the future.

    Whats left to do is some sort of clamping feedneck, for this I just ordered a kinda unique looking bike seat clamp.

    Interesting build! Looks very clean. I'm also a fan of bottomline regulators.

    I'm curious, due to the German velocity restrictions do you find that you get a lot of bounces when you play? The amount of bounces we get playing at 270-300 fps is pretty high so I can only imagine what it's like that much lower.

      I'm going to be honest with you, I have not been to a single field where the rental guns were set below 240fps (214 being the legal limit). And the fields where speedballers are playing generally observe a policy along the lines of: "you all know what's legal and we all know velocity can fluctuate with the weather and whatnot, so we're not kicking anyone off the field who's clocking in below 300fps"

      I could live with the velocity restrictions being enforced if I could import non-F stamped markers (for a reasonable fee). Also technically modification of any marker (which are considered firearms here) would only be legal when done by a certified gunsmith and the definition what a modification is, is very loose.

    What's your advantage of running 2LPR? One for the ram and one for the solenoid?

      Solenoid (or rather the piston attached to it) requires quite a bit of pressure to trip the sear but I'd like the bolt to cycle a bit softer. When both were running off the front LPR set to the lowest pressure that still reliably triggered, the bolt was barely movable by hand when pressurized.

    Thats a high end PE oops rail you got there on that one.

    any STO threaded clamping feedback will screw right onto that gun. CCM makes the nicest low rise STO feed necks but they are pricey.

    Keep it up! those guns rock. I like converting those to SF frames to pnue-mechanical

      I've seen one of those listed here for quite the price and left a comment but never got a reply. It was left to me in return for a small CAD design. What makes them so desirable?

      There's no way I'm not doing the pneu-cocker conversion eventually, but I'll ride the electronics out a bit (or until i grow tired of the eyes being kinda screwy)

        The trilogy SF always was sort of an electric pneucocker, that's what makes the mechanical conversion so beatifully simple. Usually the trigger solenoid and piston get air from the front, I just hooked up a separate LPR.
