    Trilogy (sf) low velocity trouble

I was out playing yesterday and when I went to chrono my trilogy i was shocked to find it only got a measly 100 fps with the ivg all the way in.

I had previously gotten about 240fps out of it at home with rubber balls, that seemed to be at the regs sweet spot and the spring in the marker is probably DE spec.

On a whim I flipped the ivg which brough a whopping 50fps increase, which makes me think the HPR is set too high, but it's weird that it was working previously.

It may have gummy oil in the bottom tube, I'd suggest a good cleaning and a relube.

Trilogies are notorious for low velocity after a while. The springs they come with wear out incredibly fast. It's the one real downside with the platform.

That sounds plausible. Together with it being sprung for 214fps (german law compliant) and probably sitting around with its main spring compressed because its tricky to drop the hammer without a battery air in the marker.

I disassembled the gun and didn't find anything during cleaning. Results mirrored that, but then i put in one of my spare spyder valve springs and tada, 320 fps.

The HPR probably still needs to be set lower as I noticed the velocity spike one or two shots after turning off the pressure from the bottle. And I probably still should get ahold of a spring meant for this gun. I'd much rather not have the thing not accidentally capable of 400fps.

put a gage on the HPR set to 300 and then after see if you need a stronger hammer spring

Finally got a gauge and found my hpr was set to only ~200psi, I probably got confused with the adjustment direction when setting it before...

Set it to 300 and the marker now maxes out at 260fps with its worn out original spring; which is playable, but I can always drop one of my Spyder valve springs in until I get a proper replacement.
