    modernizing the eblade solenoid.

    Hi,
I am looking to gauge interest in a project I have been working on.

Who is interested in a smaller eblade solenoid?

I have found a circular solenoid that will fit in the same package size as a mech 3way.

The interest would be for a finished kit including the solenoid housing and solenoid.

goal is to have a eblade cocker with a mech looking front block.
The new solenoid will be hidden inside a housing that looks like a mech 3way

DocsMachine would be a good place to start for making prototypes and hopefully production. I’m interested if there’s a benefit over the stock SMC and it’s not too costly.

Unrelated, but I’m still waiting for that Styn valve to be completed.

solenoid runs 50-80 depending on qty and the housing price is up to Doc

If the volume is high enough for a CNC program that would help to keep the cost down

I’ve kind of grown to like the old school big ole eblade solenoid housing look on my older WGP ecockers, but if I was to do a modern build, which ill probably end up doing one day with the sci fi board I have, I’ll definitely be interested in this type of modern design. I love that the solenoid is tiny, more so then it looks mechanical. I think having multiple types of housings would be neat too, or a 3d printed housing option, that way guys can use a housing that may still give it an electro look over a mechanical look.

As long as it stays within the footprint of the front block so I can use a shroud, I am good for at least one.

shroud compatible for a super sleeper.

Heck, put me down for one. If it fails, I still have the original. It’ll be 2 of 4 modern e-cocker upgrades I want.
Have you tested it with your board? Does the noid use more or less power than the SMC?

As long as cost and functionality are there, I could be interested as well.

I would be interested in one or two depending on price.

price will be cost, not looking to make any money on this. I aim to keep it low as possible. I will fund everything until they are in my hands. With all the machining setup might as well run a few more than I need.

You know I’m down for 1 or 2 out of simple curiosity.

latches109 I would just want a general cost to know how many i would want. If it is 50-100 i would want 2-3 100-200 i would want 1, 200+ i am out at this time. I do not mind if the costs change a little higher or lower i just do not want to ask for 3 find out it is going to be 300 dollars a piece and have to back out on you or re budget to account for the 900 dollars.
This is more of an engineering question but with the fact that the air pressure is "low" could this part that needs to be milled be 3d printed? I would imagine that it would be larger than if it was milled but it might be cheaper.
The reason that i quoted low is that even at 10-32 psi that is still a high pressure and while PLA or some other material might work it might not work for long.

That is very cool. Cost and final product depending, I very well may want one.
