    Leaking Down Barrel

Was playing last month and the front most hose popped off 3way. Think my hand bumped it due to grip. Put it back on and finished game. Then next game it popped off again and wouldn't stay on. Figured hose was just loose on barb now so switched guns.

Got home, replaced hose and didnt think about it again. Went out this weekend and now its leaking down barrel. I can feel air coming down barrel and up feedneck. Cocking the gun doesnt stop it.

What do I need to do to troubleshoot? It's a standard 2003 WGP. I've replaced the pneumatics - inception 3 way and ram, empire lpr - all a few months old. But I've never taken the insides out so unfamiliar with where to start looking.

Sounds like it's the valve o-ring. I've just rebuilt a similar year cocker and the valve o-ring was distorted and needed replacing. You'll need a cocker valve tool for it though. It's a pretty simple process, just remember where you IVG when you take it out of the gun. If you need help just ask and we'll be able to guide you through it all.

Yup, either a valve oring or poppet cupseal.

The users above are right, valve o-ring. If you're noticing erratic velocity too, you may need to rebuild the HPR. A creeping HPR could be the catalyst for the two things you've had go wrong.

Ooo, good call on the HPR, definitely could be the root cause.

Thanks all. Will get valve tool and investigate.

Velocity was consistent, HPR is relatively new CP.

Thanks for everyone's advice. Managed to get everything out, o-ring looked ok but I replaced. The cupseal stem looks chewed up, unfortunately I don't have extra. Put it back together just to see and it's still leaking so looks like cupseal.

Should I just buy one for $15 from ACP or spend a few bucks more and just replace all lowers? I currently have '03 WGP so all the original stuff is old.

I never really noticed a big difference in any of the valves. If it’s been shooting good for you other then the leaking down the barrel I would just go with a new cup seal and call it a day. WGP makes a good valve IMO it’s all in the springs and tuning anyway. I would definitely check that HPR for reg creep shouldn’t be popping 3way hoses off it’s getting to much pressure if you are.
