    Which HP Regulator?

When it comes to autocockers, i am a bit behind the game. My autococker knowledge is all 23 years old and i am needing a externally adjustable HPR. My old wgp reg made in 2000 is giving me all kinds of trouble with pressure spikes, dips, and sticking even after a rebuild and not being able to adjust it easily is getting annoying.

These dust red regs are available on ebay, but i know nothing about their reliability or quality. Any suggestions or comments on which dust red regulator or chrome regulator i should go with? (Doesn't have to be ebay, thats just an example). Thanks!

Did you try replacing the reg seat in your wgp reg? I think docfire sells them.

Dye hyper 3 is essential an improved dye hyper 2 so that's a good choice if you don't mind looks of reg cover.

Cp regs are good, but need a rebuild kit from them off memory. Should last many years without needing it though.

    Unsure on ego regs.

Most are pretty good. Post any others you like

The Eclipse reg is fine too, might need a new reg seat and orings since it looks to be from ~2009. It's basically the same reg design that they are using currently.

CP regs are solid, but that price is a bit high. A used one would work just as well if you can find the right color.

I’ll second this, I’ve had good results with CP regs.

Cp all the way. My favorite regs. Consistent, center input, you can convert them to lp if you need to, easy to work on

They used to be $90 new. The price has come down

Yeah, you're right. I'm not sure why I was thinking that.

Dose it have to be Dust red? Because I would spend the extra $15 and get the best AKA

You could rebuild your WGP reg cheap with better then new parts. I would do this if it was Ano matched and the bore of your reg isn’t scored or damaged. You could even send your reg to him for service if you don’t feel comfortable doing it yourself.

If i have the pneumatics disabled, holding bolt forward with hand, bore sized to paint, and getting about 75 fps variance when it happens. Then it will go away and work fine for a while with about 20fps deviation (this varies from a dozen shots to a hoppers worth). Then it will happen again and the fps goes nuts, high and low. So i think its the reg, but a disassembly and inspection doesnt show a visible issue. So i want to eliminate that as a possibility.

Are your grip screws too long interfering with the springs? Might be worth sending it to somebody to tune.

Screw lengths are good. I ran into that issue years ago so i checked it right away as it confounded me way back when it happened. Thanks for the suggestion. It is amazing how nuanced autococker tuning/maintenence is. I like the idea of just making it work by having someone tune and repair it for me, but at the same time i really need to solve the issue myself. I had it as my main marker for 4 years, modified it through out, without issue (relatively, ha)

It's more expensive than the cp but the shock tech uses the internals from the CP regs so it's just a CP with different milling

I might be interested in the old reg if you find a new one. I hear good things about the CP regs. I have one, and a shocktech is basically a CP reg inside

Thanks everyone, sounds like the CP is the way to go. I was unsure of quality. Hopefully this old autococker will play again after the old age kinks are worked out!

I was going to say pass on the hyper 3 reg. They typically don't output over 300 without adding a shim. I have a dust red hyper 2 if you are interested.

                CP is pretty solid though.
