    Mag-fed Stingray in the works...

So, something that I remembered from way back when (circa 2000), the Avenger grip frame works with the Stingray striker. It takes some work to get it all lined up, and you have to choose how you want it to attach. But it works.

I happen to have a busted @$$ Avenger sitting in a box, so I grabbed the frame. It's a double trigger and is way easier to do a decent trigger job on compared to the Stingray trigger. Still not awesome, but better. And it opens up bottomline options.

Anyways, I also have a Hammer 7 frame and magazine sitting in a box, and so I lined it up... in the name of science.

This will be a work in progress, as I don't yet own a dremel. Lol.

The upside-down Stingray is for comparison, showing where the stock lower receiver sits.

I plan to channel the lower receiver and use it like a tray, so it can still use the stock pins for attaching the two halves. There's not really enough plastic or metal to drill and tap for frame screws.

I am going to only use the Hammer 7 magazine well, probably permanently attached with 2-ton epoxy (or similar).

And that is where I sit currently.

    Open to suggests.

BTW, did any other frames fit the Aegis markers? Spyder, Piranha...?

The way the sear pin sticks up above the top of the frame requires a corresponding notch in the body... so the frames are specific to bodies that have the notch.

The Stingray just so happens to have such a notch in the bottom of its upper receiver.

On anything without the notch in the body, the frame will not sit flush against the body. The sear is also probably much too tall to work in other markers without modification. And if the height isn't an issue, then the width probably will be. The Avenger sear is huge.

The Stingray just so happens to also have a huge sear.

So it all works without issue in this particular case.

Other frames on the Avenger body will probably not even reach the striker.

Little bit of progress tonight. Man, it has been a long minute since I have taken a hacksaw to a Stingray... talk about nostalgia.

Decided to reuse the Stingray trigger guard and cut the Avenger trigger in half. Need to channel the lower receiver and slide the Avenger frame in through the top. Lots of fit and finish work ahead getting everything all lined up. But most of the heavy cutting is done except for the hole in the upper receiver for the magazine...

You can see where this is going:

Nice. I remember when Kevmaster would photoshop stingrays, he made one once where the magwell was sitting integrated with the trigger guard, just ahead of it.

That reminds me of something on BEOG, or whatever the Stingray group was called... it was an interactive MS-Paint-based "photoshop" visualization tool that would show you to see different modifications to a Stingray. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Lol.
