    9ci tank + Phantom

Has anyone rocked the Tippmann (or similar) 9ci tank in the vertical ASA? Have an estimate on the number of shots per fill you got? Or would be more ideal to go with a 13ci?

I do it all the time. I get around 130 solid shots. That's as many as I have tried, but there was still over 1k in the tank so I'm sure there would be more there if you wanted to go that far.

That's off of a hot fill at the park. If I use my Yungheng and have a cold fill I'm sure it would be over 200.

Mr. Hick are you underboring or doing anything else to try and squeeze out as much efficiency as possible?

Nah man. I paint match. Luckily for me my field paint is good stuff normally so its no worries. I also noticed that switching to the Tip 9ci I only had to turn in the TPC maybe half a turn to get right back up to field velocity.

I run a 13 vertically if it’s on my Mag fed and open class Phantoms. I always have plenty of shots for games. I do however always top off between games but have never shot it dry during a game.

Boy I hope mine looks that good with the 9ci sticking off of it! (not sarcasm)

I lost my review with the hack, but I run a 9ci tank on my Phantom when I'm not using 12 grams. Depending on the reg, you may need to play with springs.

Key is getting bottle output pressure in the 800-850 range. Mine is running 825 output I can switch between HPA and 12g with less then 20-15 FPS
          drop. (Stock Silver Springs)

I have red springs in 7 Phantoms and use them with 12 grams and then thread in HPA with maybe a little velocity adjustment. CCI made a bulletproof marker for sure for years.

I think that's settled, I will have to snag one of these up. As long as I can get at least 100 shots per fill, that should be more than enough!

You should get that no problem! you could always get the 10ci for a lil more.

          I get 150 shots @280fps on a hot fill 9ci

Tank reg is set to 825psi
          Clean lightly oiled CCI Phantom
stock silver spring (valve & hammer)
          14” freak bore
Good paint to bore match just barely rolls threw. (I let the ASP detents do there job)

Do you add shims to the stock reg stack to achieve that?

One of my Maxtac bottles I had to shim one I did not. I used ninja shims I got from there tec at some event I was at. It’s a knock off reg I believe but it works fantastic. I have been using it for about 3 years now. I do only use the tanks in the winter months. I have not tested the Tippmann ones but most 3k regs are set to 800 from the factory. 2.5 turns in from flush on the TPC should put you close to 280fps +/- bottle pressure. With stock silver springs. 800psi will work just less adjustment up and down because the springs balance out a turn or two In farther. @825 what I think is the phantoms sweet spot HPA and 12g is less the 20fps difference over the chrono when swapping air to Co2.

I haven't tested its output but the Tippmann reg on my 9ci resulted in about -15fps over a 12ie when I swapped them so I'm guessing it's higher than 800 from the factory.

Tank got here today. So far so good! Balances well, can barely notice the added weight. Can't wait to test it out.
