    Reverse Feed Phantom

Looking for information on the reverse feed mod.
I’m new to Phantoms and I’m currently building one to my style/liking.

I really like the rock back feel (and look) and I’m wondering how much is involved in this mod.

It looks like I just need someone to drill and tap the body.

Anyone know of a write-up or someone who can do this mod for me?

    thanks in advance

Your looking for a reverse feed block. It was made by cci for a short time and are going to be hard to find.

The answer to your question is in another thread.... a 3d printed empire style feedneck. Give me a minute and I'll find it

as long as your set up is the one screw feedneck this maybe the man to talk to.

If you’re new to Phantoms I’d consider practicing with a normal-ish one before building some weirdo thing.

I don’t know what a reverse feed is, never heard of it. If you mean it’s rock back instead of rock forward then...you just use a stick feed and mount it backwards. Depending on what you have that may just mean grabbing it and spinning it around 180deg. If you want a low profile stock feed to sit backwards...I’ve never seen that. I think you need an undercocker to do it. It also won’t be very secure/strong since the stock class feeds are made to be flush to the body, and you’d need a body with a screw hole in the opposite spot.

If you had a picture of what you’re going for and a list of what you have it would be easier to help.

There are reasons why rock forward is the norm, you learn them while shooting a lot. Rocking forward is faster and it makes target acquisition after a pump event easier and faster.

I’m not looking to go crazy. Rock back is just much more comfortable. I’m a lefty, I do a lot of crap backwards.
I fully understand your point of speed and target acquisition. It’s much more natural to shoulder “up” a rifle than bring it down into your shoulder.

I’m not looking to do anything wacky or crazy with this marker, just make it comfortable for myself.
I have put many rounds down it in my backyard over the last few monthsand just want to make some basic “improvements” for myself before I take it out in the spring.

Yes, this is what I’m looking to do.

I have played with pumps a few times in the past — it’s been a LONG time...I honestly don’t even remember what they were...it’s been 20+ years.

Ah, so it actually does leave enough for the pump handle. It does look...way too easy to break though.

No easier than the standard style feed block.

Check out apocalypse feeds. He just made a reverse mount that accepts a cci feed tube.

My reverse feed (the one Havoc posted) is working great as it is a solid chunk of delrin like the normal sc feed block. I have two broken Apoc feeds in my trash bin, though.

From actual experience, it doesn't take any more time to rock back as it does to rock forward as you say it does. I see people say it all the time when reverse feeds come up but I'm convinced it's cause those people have never actually used one. If anything I am faster with my reverse fed Phantoms as I never have to worry about smacking my mask with a 15 round feed.

The issue isn’t the time it takes to cock. That is the same, as you say. It’s the time it takes to reacquire the Target after cocking the gun. With rock forward your front hand stays in the same position so your aim is barely broken. If you’ve lifted the gun to cock it all Terminator style you’ve broken site by lifting the barrel. This is maybe more dependent on which gun you have and all that. I’ve for sure used both, I started on Sheridan guns back in the day. Now my stock gun is a Phantom.

In the end whats best is whatever you like but fundamentally rocking forward allows one to hold their target better. It doesn’t matter one bit of course.

That's thing, there no need to cock the gun like that. One degree is enough to get it to feed, with barely any chance to double feed to boot.

It depends on your position which is going to work better. The main reason the regular phantom style is better is because it is easier to access the feed gate.

Otherwise rock back always made sense to me because you're often aiming upwards already so the gun requires no rocking whatsoever.
