    Aluminum? Brass? Cylinder/ frame

I’m working on getting quotes form local machinshops. For aluminum or brass (I’m definetly doing atleast one set for me) Cylinders and grips.
as with on the Facebook group I need to gage intrest of a run the more we buy the cheaper each becomes.

also need to know a general range of what people are willing to pay for said parts. I’m not here to profit off these just break even.

alternetivley if somone here has a shot and wants to do the run lmk. Alloy 360 free milling brass. Please

Im definitely interested in how well they hold up. I don’t have a DRV anymore but would consider getting another if you can fix the indexing issues they have.

Sounds expensive. Brass does anyway. The cylinders could be reasonable enough but the brass grips might require payment plans. That being said I might be interested anyway.

I’m working on having them made. Grips will probaly be around 300-400 small batch one offs. If we go bulk canprobaly get them closer to 200 but would need to order like 50

brass cylender a are around 150 I think

not sure on aluminums yet working with a local machine shop as we speak

also working on the indexing. Comes down 99% to the pall spring needs to be a bit longer and stiffer for the arm to return to the complet top position. Once I find a dutiable replacement size I’ll let you all know or I might be a dick and buy a bunch and not tell any ones the size but ship them a spring. Jk

So update local shop can probaly do a aluminum run for about $60 a cylinder (would need to order 100) We arnt sure about frames yet since it would be a much smaller run.

if your intrested let me know. I’m gunna do a brass one either way as well as a few aluminums Basicaly I’m eating the set up costs. If you want one lmk.

Be cautious before throwing a ton of money into cylinders. The DRV design itself has some issue as there is no positive locking mechanism to ensure the cylinder indexes properly. An aluminum cylinder will probably last longer because you won't get the nicks in the guide slots, but functionally would probably end with the same issues as a brand-new delrin cylinder would have. If you cock the hammer back to fast, momentum can carry the cylinder passed the firing position, going slower works as long as the pawl mechanism stops in the correct spot. If the levers don't rotate back into position at the right speed, the whole mechanism can lock up too.

Only issue mine has are the nicks going thru the indexing holes. It as I said above just need to find a stiffer spring. To make the lever move properly

Any chance of getting delrin cylinders made?

I would take a few in delrin depending on price. I don't know how you would meet the minimum of 100 cylinders.

So talked tot he machinist today. $50 for black anodized aluminum. $45 for the plain delrin 100 minimum or the price goes up if it’s a small

if we run 50 prices would double at the minimum.
                      Small keep doubling

grips will be far more pricy but if there are people who want them I can get them made. probably about $400 a pop minimum 10
                      .

So bought the aluminum prototype has to many issues so the run will be delrin. Again only if there is interest I want 10 for my self cuz I’m set up for hpa and it will be my main marker to run around with.
aka I’m doing 10 regardless. Figured if other people needed them get them now so you don’t have to pay for the set up time ect

Yeah, I'm out. The brass was a worthy idea, worth looking into anyway. But the price was a bit frightening. I can't speak to the delrin cylinders but 100 seems like more pieces than the whole DRV run could use.
