What boards fit a PM8?

Greetings,

I have a Proto Matrix 8, where the board (7th Element) seems to have died. Nothing whatsoever happens with several different brand new batteries. What are my options regarding boards for the PM8. What other guns can I scavenge a board from? I don't need anything more fancy than semi. The frame is stock.

Can the ape rampage boards for the dye matrix work?

I think some dye matrix boards could work, maybe DM8 or DM9

The dm8 board is listed as a upgrade for the pm8 aswell on techt. Don't know if correct.

I briefly owned a PM8 and I seem to remember DM8 being printed on the circuit board. The key is it has to have a ribbon connector for the eyes instead of a wire connector.

you CAN use a DM board, but you'll need to use DM eyes. but youll have to figure out a place to fit the eyewires.. cause they definitely designed the insides with an ribbon eye cable in mind

not all UL baords are the same size. iirc pm5 is unique and DM6/7 have longer top mounting positions. From the microswitch and below they are all identical.

nah, just the PM5. everything else was a standard shape, untill they stopped using screws on the grips.

the PM6 and 7 UL frames used the same board as the DM but came with a ribbon eye connector only, in 2008, they started putting a combo board in things where you had both connectors on the same board.

Thx for the answers, gentlemen. Interestingly the 7th Element currently in the PM8 actually has cables, rather than ribbons, to the eyes. It is a tight fit, but it works. I didn't reflect upon it until you mentioned it. I guess I'll look for a board with eye cables then, since I don't have any spares with a ribbon.
