Might have a shot at a super barebones matrix, worth/repair?

So, I started playing in 03-04, and stumbled upon this. https://greensboro.craigslist.org/fo...387694281.html The guy says it's missing a screw or a fitting according to his local pro shop, and, I'mma be honest with y'all, with the breadth of knowledge on this forum and all of y'all making parts or finding resources for weird parts. So, TL, dr - Got a shot at an "always wanted, never could afford" old bone stock matrix. How terrible are they to tech? I'd be paying for shipping on it, and I have a few local pro shops, and, well, y'all. I have been reading through the stickies and looking at old information I can dig up.
I could have sworn I had something important to put here...

The bolt has a lot of pieces and orings, but it's manageable. For $50 + shipping it appears to be plenty worth it.

A lot of orings, but nothing really tricky.
Rebuild the regs and swap your rings and it will probably shoot great.

I'll need to find an appropriate tank. All I have right now is a 13 CI for my pump, but, I'll see what I can track down at the local field this weekend.

Most definitely worth it. The SMC solenoid alone is worth $50-60 these days.

The matrix was very much an off the shelf marker. Nothing that proprietary going on with it except the board.

Pretty much the same stuff as the Dye version aside from a couple of things. The connectors on the wiring harness are different to the solenoid/battery along with being a "slide switch" board. And the vert asa adapter hole is 1/8npt rather than straight threads (3/8-24 I want to say).

But that really only matters if you care to change those things.

I actually think those old ones that didn't have the vertical ASA were a straight thread. The one I had seemed to have straight threads and sealed by a small nylon washer that sandwiched between the beehive reg and the body. I couldn't swear to it but the threads didn't seem tapered at all and they certainly didn't get tighter as they went in. It just bottomed against the body and sealed with a washer.

BUY THAT GUN. To the OP: that's a fairly rare gun with the slide switch. I say buy it and even if you don't like it flip it on here and double your money.

Maybe they started the serial numbers over from airtech/diablo to gen-e?

It's entirely possible my frame is newer.... it appears to be a bit of a mutt. I think it has a Trinity LPR, an Aardvark trigger, pewter grips, and a red bolt kit.

And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

Oh yeah I've definitely seen quite a bit of that. Mostly with dye frames on earlier bodies.

OP: One thing to keep in mind (if you care) is that these are blind. Not that it matters with a modern loader, but if you want to run a revy or something.

Unfortunately the guy never got back to me, I asked him on monday for shipping info and haven't heard back from him, I was busy the previous week doing onboarding stuff for a new job. How modern are we talking here? Can I run a Halo II or a reloader B with no issues?

Halo realistically would probably be fine. Maxed out the board will do 16.7bps

Neat! Well, I'll try and get back in touch with the guy. Last I checked it was still for sale, so. I spend...silly amounts of time on craigslist looking for things, and there's always other options, but I like old bricks. They have personality.
