    Hyper 3 low output pressure

Hello, I have a Hyper 3 hpr and the max output I’m getting out of it is in the 280-300 psi range, which apparently isn’t enough for my cocker to get to 280 fps. Based on some reading I think it should go up to 400 psi? Anyone have a similar issue? I’ve cleaned and lubed it but no change. I put a reg from another cocker on this particular cocker and got to 280 fps with no problem with current springs. Thanks in advance!

This was common on the dye regs. They didn't notice until they had a bunch of them out there. docfire sells shims on his website. you likely just need to add one to the stack. Pretty sure he also did a video on this.

I’m surprised you got that high… max I got out of most hyper3’s was like 200. But yeah, adding shims will get you as high as you’d like to go.. you can also swap/remove your valve spring to get your operating pressure lower

If you've got an 11/16ths body, using a DYE Lazarus valve will let you run 200-250psi from the HPR and easily make good velocity even with the lightest hammer spring.

Thank you, it’s an 11/16th body but it’s a mid block Black Magic body which I gather the Lazarus valves don’t fit. I wound up picking up a couple belleville washers from Dye to get the psi up some.
