    How Robust are Mini Regs?

    I just bought a TM15 to flip and I'm wondering how reliable these regs are. It currently works fine, and I'd rather not rebuild it if I don't have to, but I don't know when or if it has been serviced; and don't want it to break down soon after I sell it. Any insight would be appreciated.

    Ive found em to be damn near bullet proof. The reg is almost never the issue. Solenoids are.

      That tm15 have an empire relay. Or the stock non on/off reg on it?

          If you disable the cent, they make very capable regs in a super small form factor ...

            I bought my Mini almost nine years ago and the reg is still fine. I hear they are not serviceable once they do go, however. As stated, the solenoids die young, but at least they are cheap to replace

              Took apart mine to to machine it, its not that bad ... some small parts, but nothing too crazy ...

            It’s the transfer tube that leaks on them with that tiny specialty oring. The reg itself is pretty rock solid.

              The original Mini reg is non-serviceable. The Axe Relay, which can also be fitted to a Mini, is... but service parts are hard to find because Empire doesn't want anyone messing with them.

                I have a relay I bought sold as leaking, I wanted for an hoseless ion. How hard is hard? I haven't dug into it yet.

              Thanks guys, I guess for once I'll have to leave well enough alone. I got the pin depressor/filter out of the ASA, and that's as far as I got. I did try to get the screw under there out, but ended up damaging the head. So that's it.

                So I was able to shoot it today. After about 120 rounds the pressure had crept up to about 220psi. It seemed to shoot fine though.

                  I toss a couple drops of oil in once in a while... seems to help prevent creep.

                  220psi is a bit high, 200 or lower is where it should be.

                    I might give that a try, the manual does say no oil though...

                    The air I was using was pretty wet (hand pump home fill) so I might try the same with some dry air.

                      I think the main concern is likely about contaminating the solenoid... but pressure spikes are worse for the noid in my opinion, so I'm ok with removing the noid and cleaning any oil out of it once in a while.
