    TM15 Solenoid Issue

Is it possible to remove the solenoid from the solenoid assembly on the TM-15? The marker is firing a bit inconsistently and as part of a complete rebuild/cleaning I'd like to take apart the solenoid to clean it or potentially replace it but I can't get it off the assembly. I thought it would just twist off similar to how it unscrews from the board on the Axe but it doesn't seem to want to budge.
Any thoughts or suggestions as it doesn't seem like the assembly is sold anymore. It's only a backup marker for me but I love it and would hate to have to get rid of it just because of this. It seems silly to not be able to get into the solenoid to clean it when the same solenoid for the Axe is easily accessible.

What version, there are 2. The original version you are kinda SOL to my knowledge. The 2nd version uses an adapter to use the mini/ axe selonoid. I have also been screwed by this issue.

I'm not sure.i had it replaced shortly after I purchased the marker. Here is what it looks like.. It looks like the axe solenoid which was why I thought I could just unscrew it and swap it out.

This is the gen2 solenoid, which switched to an adapter that uses the Axe/mini solenoid. It should just unscrew.

Ended up using a pair of vice grips to get a better grip and it came right off.

Appreciate the help. I didn't want to try that if it wasn't supposed to come off.
