    Naughty Dog Freestyle Pro Build

New "restoration" project has made it's way to me. Naughty Dog Freestyle Pro with some "mis-matched" parts.

    Planned parts list:
    - FSP bolt system
    - AKA JDS LPR
    - CP HPR
    - Sconi or Nummech feedneck
    - Morlock board

    To do list:
    - Break down and clean...well...everything
    - Test solenoid to ensure working condition
    - 3d print some eye covers
    - Figure out a solution for missing "plunger" in my spare bolt engine (3d print? Small delrin piece?)
-Wire harness figured out and wired up to morlock board
    - Full system test

Whole thing is going to need an anno job. Not sure what I'm going to do yet with it. Torn between something really simple, like a full clear with black bolt showing off the paw, or an acid wash (there's been some really nice ones out there).

Nice find. These are so much fun to build.

So, everything has been torn down and cleaned up, looks much better now, although there are still a lot of anno dings.

Solenoid is tested and works (yay!) so that's a relief.

Turns out I don't technically need a solution to the missing "plunger" piece, I just need to add some material so the bolt pin detent remains stiff. The plunger/valve assembly is not necessary to function according to some folks on the ICD-O group, and removing them increases volume, lowers pressure, and makes for better paint handling.

As for eye covers and grips, not sure what route I want to go. I may 3D print the eye covers at first and just use a standard grips to get it up and running. I'm also tempted to grab some nice cherry or maple and hand carve the eye covers, and then have oDm make me some custom acrylic grips in order to use OLED screen more effectively.

The Morlock board is going to be fun. I should have no problem wiring up the solenoid, eyes might get tricky though. I plan on keeping the original switch to turn the board on/off, that way I don't have to modify the frame too much. I'll likely just 3d print a mounting plate for the board and screen.

In the short run, I just want to get it together and running. In the long run, it will be stripped down and anno'd. After a brief discussion in the Naughty Dog collectors group (Corey Field commented) I'll likely be sticking with the blue and black theme.
