    Bolt action Spyder(Piranha)

I made this about 15 years ago, give or take a year or two. I just recently re-acquired it from my younger brother who is now "too old to play" and brought it back to the living.

It also now has one of Kit's horizontal Asa's so I can run a drop out changer. :-D
I need to get new photos..

That's what I'm talking about! It's hideous, and I love it.
If you need to talk, I will listen. Leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I get it.

Lol, it's jb weld and 3 different guns, 4 if you count the stock. It's tons of fun though!

That might answer my question, how is the spring feed attached? JB weld?

Yes, I had a PT Extreme that didn't work, I cut the top off and JB Welded it over the feed, that way I can remove the spring feed to refill it or swap for another.

Ahh I see. So you kept the ⅜" dovetail rail portion/top ¼ of of the gun and just glued it onto the body?

          Too Cool.
If we are choosing teams, I'm picking the "sniper".

That’s a heck of a clean mod with the pt body portion. If I didn’t know better, I would swear that was how the body was milled!

                interesting.
i think anyone who grew up playing with spyders had, at some point, a sniper version.

i remember mine with a cheap scope, a big stock, and a HUGE barrel. lol

                  Very cool!
Similar to what I did with my MR1. Not sure if my thread/pics survived the recent attack, I haven't had the time to look.

I keep coming back to eyeball that stock.

It fits perfectly, even notched for the frame... I want one.

Where does one acquire such a thing?

If you really want one and can't find a fancy one, you can get some welding steel bar and just bend one for yourself. I did one, it won't be as amazing, but it will be pretty close.

This one was made from 1/2" aluminum bar, and should be easy enough to replicate with some care and a big enough hammer(also a vice, drill, hacksaw, grinder, and files).

I was definitely thinking of using aluminum bar stock... but I suppose it could just as easily be made from 1/8" thick steel strap.

However, I don't have a vice, or a big hammer, and I am inherently lazy(?)... I will probably just buy a stock from Doc if I find that I must have one. The shape and fit of your stock is stellar, but if they are difficult to source, then any stock will serve the same function.

I still haven't made up my mind on the whole stock thing, anyways.
                  Working...
