    Gas Thru or Expansion Chamber?

Replacing some parts on my Spyder Shutter. Went with a CP drop and On/Off.

For the forward grip, is an expansion chamber going to be an issue with the HPA?

Or does it not really matter one way or the other?

    Thanks!

Expansion chamber "should" not be a problem on HPA as long as they don't restrict the flow too much ... you "may" have to gut it ...

Give it a go and see what velocity you get.

PS: if it's the gas through grip style, it has absolutely nothing inside so you'll be good to go ๐Ÿ‘

If you are referring to the stock two-tone/two piece expansion chamber foregrip, itโ€™s basically an open volume chamber. There arenโ€™t tiny passages and large surfaces to promote liquid co2 expansion. So for HPA the stock two-tone/two piece foregrip is not an issue at all. Itโ€™s just a gas-thru foregrip essentially.

edit: ya Xemon said the same thing above.

        Thanks for the replies.

I was talking about the old school ribbed ones like the Taso in the picture attached.

Not referring to the stock one, as I want to change that for a different look.

        Thanks!

I don't see it being a problem. It should have plenty of volume. The only issue would might have is if you are using the metric spyder air line, you will need an adapter to fit standard threads like what most aftermarket grips are likely to have

Using a CP ASA, so I will be using all new fittings / air line. Haven't decided if I want to do macro line or stainless yet.

Can't go wrong with stainless. Macro always seems to leak eventually

For best results, I would recommend fitting a gas through grip to the marker. Expansion chambers end up starving the air to the marker when using HPA.

at high rates of fire, maybe. but a blind spyder with a shake-n-shoot hopper should be fine.
its going to add allot of weight though... i say go with a hollow chamber.

there are plenty of other spyders with hollow foregrips that can work.
some you might need a different front block though.

spyder imagine came in black with a full size hollow foregrip that should bolt right up.
