    ASA nuts

Hey anyone know what the specs are on the ASA nuts that slide into the composite frames?

I have like 5 frames that I only need nuts and some screws for

The thread is peculiar, but 6 x 32 screws work. The square nuts measure just a bit over 1/4" on each side and just a bit over 1/8" tall.

      Hmmm, think these might work?

The dimensions look close and the threading is right so I bet they'll work. The ones you've linked are stainless. The factory Kingman ones are not.

Any hardware store nearby? That may save a few pennies. I wonder if a hex nut would work? In all my years I've not tried.

Did a quick search on my Spyder SE PDF, Screws are 5/32 by 1 inch and 1 1/4 inch., Philips button head. square nut to match. Pretty sure Kingman/Spyder didn't change these up too much. One of the few fasteners that isn't metric. Use this info. for reference. Later models started using metric fasteners thru out complete marker so pending which frame needs fasteners they could be different.

The problem is the square nuts are not standard sized. The sides are shorter and vertically is taller than normal square nuts

I’m pretty sure every spyder I had with plastic frames and square nuts were metric. M4x.7

                5-34 sounds way too small.

I'll bring mine into work tomorrow and check the threads. I might be able to get you some imperial threaded nuts and bolts to use. I'll get back to you.

Well, unfortunately, I don't have access to anything that small. It's a 4mm thread, but not your standard 4x.7. Kept binding after a turn and a half.
