    I&I Widowmaker

I ran across this in an old issue of APG. It's hardly the "Ultimate Spyder!", but for ~$115 over the list price of a stock Spyder it wasn't a terrible deal. Too bad it didn't include anything that would actually improve performance.

Performance tune mod for no tool disassembly? Doesnโ€™t seem much performance there lol.

Gotta love 1990's advertising strategy. I believe what they should have said was, "We drilled your body and RVA for an Autococker bolt pin. No 'performance tune', just quick disassembly; unless you need to take the striker out... we didn't think to include thumbscrews and you'll need an allen key to remove the frame."

Man I remember that ad. Because of it nobbie333 and I had a local airsmith drill and tap out Spyder bolts for cocker knobs, because it obviously added extra cool points.

It was a great learning experience on what not buy. Buy first marker take it to proshop spend 400 so the man behind the counter can break it then charge you for new parts

Heh, I remember this ad! I too was confused with their upgrades. I'd expect it now a days since their inventory just seems like all they've got left are a few tubs of lose parts rattling around. But back then? Sometimes I wondered if Evan Money really knew what he was talking about?

I always wanted one of these. My friend scoffed and said it was done up for looks. I realized I had fallen for the gimmick. A stock Autococker wasn't much more than these at the time.

            i have something like that.
ill have to post a picture up later. It has those notches milled out of the back like that, a rear cocking rod, shark gill rail, and quick release pin. It also has a taso trigger, barrel, and expansion chamber as well as thumb screws. i though it was a taso kit but maybe its this with some taso extras

a big thank you to scottieb and johnnydread for reaching out to me with help.
i sent the picture to johnny (simply because his PM was the 1st one i read and responded to).
Scottie, i can still email you the picture if youd like.

i think i mis-spoke in the PM to Johnny.

i believe i reached out to Doc and Couger (not otter) to see if it was their handy work. this was quite a few years ago. No one had any info other than it wasnt their handy work.
