Like a pile of poo, but brass edition.

    Starting with these kp bits.

Cleaned up the choppings and sleeved the top tube with a fresh coat of .03 wall. Drilled transfer port to 5/16” and resoldered

      Shot of the action

Freak bored, carbon fiber barrel to come. Length of barrel is tbd. I’ll probably make a stock too, but the pirate is a good placeholder.

Haha the lower tube and its components are at least. Though I did epoxy mod the valve…

Todays progress. Cut a short insert retainer, cut a feedtube down for the inserts, and also cut a piece of .03 wall to hold all of it. You’ll notice that outer tube is a bit longer to allow insertion of the carbon fiber front.

Drilled the retainer ring for a piece of 1/4” round bar to act as a retention pin. A retainer retainer if you will. Soldered together.

Notched the barrel back for the retainer and cut the retainer retainer to length.

More barrel work. Cut the carbon fiber to length and made a little brass tip out of the .03 wall. Nearly done with the barrel assembly.

one two skip a few, proof of concept together. Break action single shot pirate. Next comes clean up and fiddly bits

Thanks Wally. I always liked your barrel work and think creeper’s insert retention ring is a great idea so figured why not make something inspired by both

Very nice work, would like to see a close up of the lever changer if possible.

I robbed the lever from a .40 cal pistol. Punched out the pin and replaced it with a 6-32 screw, pair of washers and a lock nut. Gave it a pair of brass legs to rotate on, which are soldered to the barrel. I have a kbg with the same design, I just adapted it to single barrel.

The exploded view. 2 screw breakdown. One for the stock, one for the barrel assembly…ok make that 3 if you count the valve retaining nut.
