Ariakon ACP 2.0

Hi MCB,

I know MCB is a shadow of its former self after 'the incident', but Im hoping someone here might be able to help me with a recent purchase I made...

I recently bought an Ariakon ACP 2.0 and am trying to get a good understanding of it before tearing it down to change out the rings.

My questions are:

1) Can anybody help me find a copy of the ACP 2.0 manual? I can find the manual for the 1.0, but the 2.0 seems to be a rare beast, and it has one specific feature that i believe is different from the 1.0... which leads me to my next question:

2) Apparently, the ACP 2.0 uses bore inserts...
A) Can anyone shed some light on how to access the insert?
B) Also, are they a proprietary insert, or can I use a freak (or some other kind of 'standard' insert make?
The usual finger trap technique isn't working to pull anything loose from inside the barrel, and Im working under the assumption that the Spyder threaded barrel tip is NOT the bore 'insert'... because that would be dumb, if it was.

I realize that I could just start tearing it down and that I could probably just figure out these answers in the process of doing that... i also realize that my experience working with other PT Extreme clones like the Delta .68 and Zeus will probably get me through a teardown without incident... but I'd really like to know what Im getting into before I start taking things apart. You never know what surprises may lurk inside these things, and a manual and/or the advice of someone with some experience with the ACP 2.0 in particular would be really helpful.

Soo I just did a Tear down/rebuild on mine, have a second one missing the retaining pin,rod, and adjuster. as far as replacement return spring, the Tippmann CA-14 seems to be working well.

as far as barrel inserts, any threaded barrel that fits works.

Thank you for that. I think the Ariakon uses Spyder threaded barrels.

So, it's just the barrel itself that's the 'variable bore size'? That's disappointing. The way the barrel screws in to the body of the pistol, it looks like it functions more like a barrel tip, and I dont think it actually goes far enough down the bore to act as a bore sizer... more like a skinny bit at the end of an otherwise roomy barrel. I feel like this is a blender waiting to happen if you underbore at all. Oh well.
