    Cocker to Sterling barrel adapter

If I can get someone to make them, would people be interested in barrel adapters to use cocker barrels on your sterlings (sterling threaded long shank barrels)?

Minimum order of 100 needed either all as .685 or a 50/50 split of .685 and .680. if there is desire for a third bore size we would need fifty more.

Cost could be up in the $35-40, but will hopefully be less.

I'm not making money on this, for now I'm just trying to see if we can get the minimum order and then we can go from there.

I've posted on the Sterling OG on FB.

I don't even own a Sterling anymore, but I'd be interested in grabbing one just in case.

You should look at the 685 with Oring style detent. That would be super useful.

This is the way. Use that long shank to your advantage. Notch it in 3 places for an o ring.

Really? When I had looked at one the other year the body looked to be under an inch in width and it looked like there might not be enough meat to thread it.

Just bought a Sterling off Superman (note to self - need to go pick up and do some visiting) so I would be in for at least one. I also think an O-Ring detent version would be perfect.

I made a barrel like this for my Carter Buzzard I had out of a CCM barrel and it worked awesome! I forget who made cocker barrels like this back in the day. But they work great!

I would Love one, but there are a few problems:
Due top the Long shanks of Sterlings, the Adapter should be quite Long and a couple different bore sitze would be needed.
Some Kind of ball detent would be nice, but there isn't enough meat.
I have heard of freaked barells, but they would have to be paper-thin at the neck and therefore fragile.
Machining the Body directly would be better, but again, not enough meat.

best solution might be backs in different bore sizes accepting common fronts, but that would be expensive.

Maybe you can find more customers in England and France

So new Sterling come with a freak bore option. It’s the older body and barrels that have the issue. Barrels are too thin to freak or rethread. But the newer sterling have plenty of meat to freak they offer it as an option when buying new. Not many customers in the US for Sterlings. They are super difficult to get as Sterling won’t ship directly to the US. They act like they will then you get ghosted.

I don’t think Schmitty even has this Sterling anymore. I believe he gifted it to rase money for Jack when he got sick.
