Sterling Springs Sent to me From Powerball!

    Hey,

If you don't know my story I bought a Sterling off Powerball (sister company of Arrow Precision) last year and the guy I was working with sent me several packs of rebuild kits. I told him I would take as many as he had and the just threw a bunch into the package.

Anyway, I was grabbing teh set of spare springs I have to get measurements to send to a friend, but under a flap there was a bag of springs. The issue is they are all different sizes. What do you guys thing were these meant to go with the sterling, or were these a mistake? I didn't know if it is a spring kit to tune my sterling or not.

Pictured: to the right is the found springs. To the left are the two springs in the last rebuild kit I have.

Good luck. No one can get them to respond to any emails or anything. If you do get ahold of someone it would be awesome if you got as many rebuild kits as they will sell you. I know a bunch of us will pick up all the spares off you!

Is there still a demand for arrow parts and still a difficulty in getting parts stateside?

The full range of Sterling Paintballs for site operators and tournament players.

Seriously though, don't get your hopes up. many people say that they can't get ahold of them, and the few that do tend to have their conversations stop short and no responses after that.

I will say the guy I dealt with was really nice and was back and forth quickly with email and we had a quick phone chat and he was very nice.

I really don't have much to base this off of, but my feeling is that they are seriously short staffed and they just focus on bulk orders of paint and their blowback guns, and shelve the smaller orders. Also, they don't seem to want to ship anything out to the US because of the hassle.

Every conversation I’ve had with them terminated once I revealed I was in the US. One minute they are “glad to help” and “proud to be the exclusive seller of the world’s greatest pump gun” and the next it’s just crickets. Very frustrating. I gave up years ago.

Yeah the only reason I was able to get an order is because I had a contact in the UK that he technically sold it to. Then the contact sent it to me. I wish there was a wholesaler in the States. In my opinion it is "The Worlds Greatest Pump". The only thing that I would concede to being as nice or better would be a CCM

When they came up with that slogan it was like 1993. Did CCM exist back then?

It’s way nicer than a Phantom, lighter than a normal cocker pump. It’s as good as anything needs to be, the Sterling, and thankfully it never needs parts because I can’t get any.

I didn't know that was their slogan, lol. Although their 1993 Sterling had a lot to be desired most importantly a velocity adjustment would have been nice!

I know the slogan they have now is " the Rolls Royce of pumps"

I contacted them again for shits and giggles.

I did too. I told them I would buy 10 Sterlings if they would ship them to me. No response, but that was not too long ago. If I can get my hands on a red stick feed, you will have first dibs...

I added what would make it worth it for you to ship me that STP you know the one I want.

Crazy thing is back 15 years or so ago. There was a Distributor in PA. My buddy created a DBA to get wholesale pricing on paint for our xball team. We use to buy Sterling paint from them and they had boxes of Sterling pumps they were always trying to sell. At the time I wasn’t interested but looking back I wish I had the forethought to ask about a SC STP. The ones he showed us were all right feeds. If I remember correctly so I don’t think they were the STP variants. But who knows what he had. I wonder if he’s still sitting on a bunch of Sterling stuff. I’m going to do some digging see if I can find his number from my buddy. I have a really nice STP I got for LT Headshot but I would love to get one in my favorite color or a factory STP stick feed for mine. If I found a stick feed I would just send mine out for a crazy fancy Ano.

I thought Mech Paintball was getting some Sterlings but they probably ran into the same issue.

It never occurred to me that Arrow or whoever might actually have unsold guns. I’m pretty sure they don’t but I too would buy a new Sterling now for full retail, no danger, if I could, regardless of shipping, even paying in pounds Sterling…which would probably be $500 or so.

The retail price for them is $425 GBP. That may have been for the 1 of 1 custom color ones though. However, there is a mandatory VAT (Value Added Tax) of 20%, then you need to pay shipping charges. Everything said and done it cost me roughly $700. Which is way more than I expected, but I was happy to finally get one. It is without a doubt my favorite marker I own.

The purple one is the 2021.

I didn’t realize the base price had gone up so much. Weren’t they like £250 in the 90s? I guess that frame upped it a bit, and the stock class parts…that barrel is really long, btw.

                      2021 you say?

Yeah I think it came in November of 2021.

They still make the Sterling Bronze which I would imagine would be way cheaper. This one is a special edition Stock Class STP, so I assume this is the top tier.

That is not the stock barrel, the stock barrel is just a plain black unported barrel. Those are also after market grips. The barrel is long, but I was given this free by a member here for the holiday season.

The really cool thing about it, is it came with vert feed, and SC feeds. Also came with configurations for VSC or gas thru grip to run HPA. Also a third ASA I am not sure what that is for, I think for 12 gram changer on the bottom of the frame. Extra hard line too.
