    SL68II on 12g

Any one here ever run there SL68II on 12g? What we looking at for efficientcy?

I am trying to decide which pump to bring with me to a 12g only day. My SL68II or my Azodin KPII.

I mainly planning to run my PGP2k but I much more adapt at using my Azodin KP or SL68II so I want one there as a back up. Hoping to take the motorcycle to the event so rooms a premium so only one can come.

Decided I going try the SL68II. Will report back here after the game on the 25th.

For those interested. The SL68II seemed to get 18-22 shots off a 12g. As day went on it seemed to do a bit better. The PGP2k didn’t really seem to do all that much different for air and I struggled playing with it (user failing) most of the day I ran the SL68II.

Thank you for following up. I’m excited to try this configuration myself.

I run mine on 12ies. Usually get about 20ish usable shots per, so you seem to be in the same spot.

Same, I get about 20 give or take. Barrel being the biggest limiting factor. I’m sure you could pick up some more shots if you could get a tighter fitting barrel. I know Deadlywinds can make one for you but they are a bit pricy. May not be worth it.

I really like the SL68II they are great shooting markers lack of off the shelf barrel options are really the only issue with them.

            I like the setup BTW.

Well with a 680 it will do a lot better given the same temperature. I didn’t know Palmer made a small bore barrel for them. I bet that shoots nicely.

Just checked there site looks like they will custom make them for $89 (12”) they are available in longer lengths to with options on porting as well. That’s cool! I regret selling mine now.

There's so much space for the gas to expand in the grip, too. I'm sure that doesn't help. But 2-2½ tubes ain't so bad.

I’d love to see Tippmann make a SL68III with a threaded barrel system even A5 threaded be fine. Detents would be really nice to prevent double feeds. And perhaps a slightly better feed neck. But realistically I doubt we will ever see that as pump seems to be on the decline with the resurgence of Mech.

But even still it’s my go to Nelson and one of my all time if not THE all time favourite pump. I may Next 12gram day give the Azodin KPII a go and see how it does. These days for open class pump I opt more for the Azodin as the barrel options are endless the feed neck is more acceptant of loaders I prefer and double feeds are not a problem with the detents no matter how slow I pump (good for being quite).

I'm pretty sure Autococker barrels are close to (if not) the proper OD and length of the SL barrel system. You could probably just file off the threads of an adapter and just leave it clamped in.

I can't remember for sure though.

It's not a SL-68II but the regulator added a substantial number of shots to the 12 gram and stopped the initial hot shots. Never took it to a field as I did not get around to changing the regulator knob for a field legal grub screw. Can't remember the efficiency but it worked very well.
