    Phenom rebuilds

ok I have 2 Phenoms that I acquired recently. I have a rebuild kit that will do 3 rebuilds. I've watched videos on going into the internals, and I want to avoid stripping out the brass ring where the on off valve is. I was thinking of dropping the body in boiling water to loosen up any thread lock and hopefully be able to get it out without issues. Any suggestions?

Good luck, sir! Last one I tried to work on I stripped that brass ring. In the electro versions is seems to be better, but the mech versions they seemed to have cheaped out, at least from memory. I'd do all the other o-rings and follow the "If it ain't broke don't fix it" rule.

10-4. I have 1 of each. Im keeping the electro but not sure about the mech yet. I'll scout it and if it won't come easy I'll skip it.

Which brass ring? The one with the firing pin? It shouldn't have much torque on it, if it doesn't immediately turn I'd try soaking in hot water or even use some oil (but only if you have the replacement.).

Those o-rings seem to last a very long time so I wouldn't worry too much unless you have issues firing.
