Well if you like the chameleon here's an option for you then, Rust-Oleum makes a couple colors of what they call color shift paint it's pretty unique stuff and they have a purple blue green that's pretty close to that chameleon 98 you have so you could paint the 98c to give it a similar look and also have all the features you want.
Here's one I did a few years back. It's not perfect as not all the colors show up well on photos but it does shift and it's a pretty cool effect

Yeah good call, Iโd mill the crap out of a beat up stock model 98 and apply one of those fancy Dupli-color rattle can color shifting finishes if thatโs what I wanted and keep the og chameleon one pretty stock

Ok ... All considered it's gonna retain its trigger guard ๐
Adding the rt to it will be a bit too much fancy machining that I want to do, and I want to keep the ring trigger on the rt, so no ring trigget either ๐
Now I need a supercool trigger guard for the 98C and a rear cocking kit for the m98 ๐
I think I'll drop the A5s for now ...

I was gonna keep 1 tricked out 98 and 1 A5, but I may drop the A5 and just keep 2 98s, the chameleon and a tricked out one ...

Thatโs a pre badge TPI 98, I think it has the same trigger parts as an old M.

Also you'll need to modify the trigger spring to be in front of the trigger not behind..
It's doable but with this one being a unique factory color and 98 customs cheap as they are is the work justification worth it.... To me no.

It's not an insurmountable problem but is rather annoying to have to fix between the two

That is true, it would make it a little easier/more forgiving.

The holes, slots and grooves are not present in the first gen 98's
It's going to be a bit of grinding to do all that
-
It's in decent shape except for some dings on the back of the frame. It would be trashed I would not feel one bit, but I'm just wondering if I'll feel bad once it's done and over ๐
If I do it I would probably use a cool aftermarket guard or make one out of stainless and heat oxide some purply color ...
Ecapnation
Do you mean the internal tabs and the hole on the right shell?
I'm planning on doing all that and using a 98comp valve body so everything looks like the 98custom but with the guild body ๐

I recall the longer moment arm on the double trigger made it rt better. I recall pulling on the bottom trigger grove a lot.
