    Prolite mainspring replacements

My Prolite isn't reaching anything above 260fps. Even with a good bore match. Assuming I need a new mainspring and those seem all dried up. Is there a known good substitute?

Because of the valve design, you need a spring like the prolite / 68 special. A regular 98 or Carbine spring is not strong enough. ... just in case someone says, "use a 98 main spring".

Correct, the prolite is 7in and the m98 are 4 3/8s? not long enough

I can't PM you for some reason. Do you have anymore springs?

switch to co2, and you should get a good working velocity....my pro-lite/mini lite is the same as you describe on hpa and my old pro-am I used to have was even worse, I could only get the Pro am to 240fps. Switching to co2 for that gun fixed the issue for me.

Agreed. My Pro-Lite will barely even cycle on 850psi HPA.

Mine shoots 285 on 850 hpa all day long with room to spare with zero mods so it is possible though.

Yeah, i’ve seen other members report success on HPA as well in past threads, yet some guns need the more energy dense sweet white clouds....I have no idea why the experiences with that pro-lite valve seem to vary so much from gun to gun?

Shoots fine on HPA, just needs a new spring

Did you ever get this fixed? I got my old Pro-lite up and running after sitting for ~15 years and it won't go over 240 on HPA. Last time it was used was co2 and no issues with velocity. So not sure if HPA is issue or if it's just that sitting for 15 years has finally worn out the spring. co2 isn't always available at my field so would have to drive to separate shop and get a tank filled (plus buy tank first) if I wanted co2.

It cycles fine, not like my Spyder Compact that's 50/50 on whether it will cycle on HPA.

I had velocity issues on mine. New mainspring made the difference for me. Reaches 270+ with HPA which is good enough for me. Bore match could probably be better. I'm all out of CO2 so I can't speak to it.

I'd recommend trying a new mainspring if you really demand it. Make sure your HPA tank is putting out 800+ PSI. And finally, check velocity with CO2. It might be that marker just needs the CO2 even if you have to go out of your way for the fill.

I have a ton of these guns from various sources. Not all have the same valve. Not sure if this is because of Tippmann production changes or individuals making changes. So, some work fine on HPA and others not so much.
