At one point I had something along the lines of 28 markers that were on display, mostly high end Automags and Autocockers. Had a handful of Angel G7 at that same time. Then, aside from those I had a tote with enough markers and gear for five people and backups for a few of those as well.
I was utilizing what was supposed to be the linen closet for said collection. One day the wife opened the door and about fell over.

Since then my collection has waxed and waned. Just recently got rid of all the cockers I collected (again, was up to five) and have been selling off Automags as I was around 10 of those as full builds, enough parts for several more. I ended up just recently selling down where I only have three working mags and (finally) not enough parts to build another, complete.

In spite of best effort and a serious lack of actual play I still have four working markers in there. The mags and a Tippmann

I currently own 7 guns; 4 cockers, 2 tippman 98s (ebolt and pump), and a CS1. The only one that is working is the CS1 haha.

I appreciate the expert answers to my question. How many of one model is too many? The answer seems to be as individual as each of us on MCB. And perhaps our personal level of OCD.

[Is it bad that my spell check wants to change OCD to ICD?]

Just an FYI: My question was prompted by finding a Fox that I had all but forgotten about. It wasn't with the others and was hanging out with the Palmers guns.

Since you forgot you had it, perhaps you'd sell it to me?

And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

Chuckle. I wondered how long it would take for that offer.

I bought that one from another MCB member. I can't remember who, but it was the one with the twin factory supply lines. It apparently thinks it better than the commoners and hangs with the Cali crowd.

Of the Fox? Its really nothing special, just a regular Fox Deluxe with a supply line on each side. I can take a photo, but the profile will be identical to a single supply line Fox.

I dabbled in paintball in the woods as a kid. Haven't played in 18 years, but that changed last month when I visited the local field. Since then, I've got my hands on a few Tippmanns. 5 98c's, 2 A-5's, a BT4 ERC, a Tacamo Vortex, and a Pro-Carbine. Though my collection is just starting, I kind of like the practice of slight variations across a common system.

Got a Brass Eagle blade when I was a kid, got into the sport as a teenager and got a Spyder Aggressor and JT pump. Picked up two Tippmann 68 specials at a yard sale and started collecting Tippmanns a few years after that, now have those 2, SL-68, SL-68 II, Pro-Am, Pro-Lite, Mini-Lite, Factory FA, 68 Carbine, Pro Carbine, 2x Model 98s and 2 98 Customs. Also added a VM-68 and Automag to the family not long ago.
SL 68, 68 special, Pro Am, Pro Lite, Factory F/A, Mini Lite, SL 68 II, 68 Carbine, Model 98, 98 Custom, VM 68, Z grip Automag, Phantom(s), Air Star Nova, N3 Hellion

I enjoy multiples. Mostly to have a direct back up in case I can't use one, I find a unique but not crazy color variation, or there's something different about it. Honestly two or three is just about right of the same kind. Funny enough I just did Inventory today.

              Tippmann Crossover x2
              Cocker pumps x3
              JT ER2 (one s) x2
              SBBB x3
              MacDev Clone GTi x2
              Phantom x2

And just for fun. Photo! Not pictured is an Azodin KD3 and one of the Clone GTi

I don't know according to Velcor, but according to my wife, I'm way passed the "too many" mark ...

I always say that I have only 1 or 2 guns but then discount the pile of loaners I've amassed and other things like that. Haha.

It isn't exactly intentional but I guess the only way I end up keeping something around long is when I forget about it.

Velcor would be proud. Most of the guns I own are Micromags. Many of those are different configurations or ano... but all basically the same thing. They're what I like.

I have no idea what the total is but I have at least 5 different Phantoms and 2 different Mags the rest are all singles. The Phantoms is because building up a set of Stock, Modified Stock and Open Class variants once I get those settle the remainder will go on the chopping block.

i may have 50 but they are all different. i dont have a breeding pair of anything.
so, for the question of "how many is too many, of the same model?" id say more than one lol.

I don't think there's an actual number. However, asking yourself "how many should I have" usually means you have too many already.

                          Otherwise, carry on.
